Its very nice to see my favorite class growing!

I remember the first time I saw a gt car on the track... and then I heard the noise the tires make in the turns!!! it sounded like a real car. I was hooked!

I do what I can to promote the class. Mostly by explaining how much fun it is, how the running cost for gt cars is way cheaper than any other nitro class. And how anybody could run and be competitive without having to spend $400+ on a super fast engine.

The best thing we can do as gt racers is help and support new comers and companies who promote gt racing. Man, I can't wait for the onroad season to start.

Why don't you just do it?

Get a drill, a few bits, a reamer and use the transmission from your GT car to mock it up. Innovation dude, try it..... its fun.

We currently have a gt racer here that has been running the HB stuff from day one. He has converted a couple of them. They have a steel gear two speed for them and are pretty easy to set up for GT.

Yes, a 1/7 scale but its discontinued for years.

I like to have fun innovating lol !, but when you live in a country where everything must be imported from USA, i prefer to ask prior and proved experiences and then jump by myself , sad but true ...

I remember a guy here saying that he was modding or he was about to mod a D8 ...

cya !

Patricio,

See if the bumper, body mounts and transmission from the ofna you have fits, then measure the lengths needed for center shafts. HB might still has parts for their gt.

For those that did not know, Hot Bodies made the Lightning 1/7th scale car about 7 years ago. The body offered for it was a Nissan Skyline R34. Here is a pic of the car. Might have to scan Ebay/Craigslist for the car or parts. Maybe an email to Hot Bodies may get results for the two-speed transmission.

Here is a clearer, cleaner pic of the Lightning.

Hello ... Why you need alloy on transmission ? As far as my experience and friends experiences, Ofna transmission is bulletproof

Cya !
