Hi guys, phone service and electricity just came back.

In my house, everything inside went down and broke, TV's, PC, electronics, dishes, everything, you name it and its broken .... my living room was like a lagoon of vodka, wine and tequila i had for years stored on the bar. No structural damage to the house so far.

Important thing, my wife and kids are good, kids playing on the park as nothing happened.

My parents city was the center of disaster, 500km from mine and they are all ok just same damage as mine in stuff inside the house.

Thanks for all your messages and emails, this was HARD HIT for the country .. hope we can recover fast ...

cya my friends, and thanks again for your good thoughts for us ...

This is great news that you and your family are OK. Stuff can be replaced, lives cannot. Please count your blessings!

Default Homestead progress photos

Saturday we wanted to seal and stripe the track. We accomplished about 80% of what we wanted to do. Mother Nature decided to show us who the boss really is and kept us from finishing all we wanted to accomplish on Saturday.

Photo 1:
Sealer is being rolled in the sweeper.

Photo 2:
This is a slow process. We have about 10,000 square feet to cover. In the back ground you can see the dark rain clouds starting to build up.

Photo 3:
The track crew is taking a short break as more sealer is being mixed.

Photo 4:
Very shortly after Photo 3 those dark rain clouds arrived and put an end to our Saturday work party. We agreed to meet on Sunday and continue sealing and striping.

Sunday morning was chilly, but the skies were clear and no rain was in the forecast. The track crew got to work and broke off into small teams and accomplished a lot today.

Photo 1:
Finally the expansion area is sealed!

Photo 2:
Now the painting of the track stripes can begin. First we snapped chalk lines for all the straight lines.

Photo 3:
Now the turns are being striped. The white contraption laying in the middle of the track to the right is a flexible jig that conforms to the curved track barriers. This jig lets us paint a precise curved line for the inside barriers. We used a string with a yellow construction crayon tied to it to mark the outside turns and followed the line with a paint roller.

Photo 4:
This is a view from the drivers stand as the track crew continues to labor

Photo 5:
As the sun was setting I took a photo of the track from the hairpin as you enter the straightaway on the left and you have a good view of the high speed esses on the right.

Default Homestead progress photos

Late in the afternoon things really started to fall in place. I think you will agree the 1/8GT racers coming to Homestead Raceway for the Ipanema 1/8 GT World Championship will have a great track to race on and the Track Crew welcomes all of you.

Photo 1:
This is undoubtedly the hardest working track crew around. I can never thank them enough for all their efforts to make this such a great racing facility. L-R: Johnny Wong, David Duperrouzel, Doug McNeely, Duncan Chin, Joe Chin, not pictured Lazaro Alonso, Robert Herrera, Rick Pinard, Lauren Wong, Johnny Wong's daughter and son in law Rick.

Photo 2: The place is starting to look a little more like a race track again.

Photo 3:
This is what we started with on January 23rd.

Photo 4:
This is what the expansion area looks like today on February 28th. We still have some smaller details to finish but we think you will agree things are shaping up nicely.

The countdown continues only:
18 Days
432 Hours,
25,920 Minutes
1,555,200 Seconds

Glad to hear that you & your family are all OK.
Family first is most important.

Have you heard from the rest of our friends there?

I hope they're all well too.
