Default build advise

just bought a G4 Evo kit with the K-factory steering, etc. Is this steering OK?

I think I remember something about the rear tires wearing faster than fronts and an upgrade of some sorts for that problem. Is this a problem on the newer kits? If so what is the upgrade.

Is there anything else of significance that I should be aware of and upgrade when I am building the kit.

Also...gearing....the track I will primarily run is pretty tight and overall is 170' x 75'

Give me a starting point for pinions and spurs

thanks
mark

I think all car will have rear tyres wear faster than front's. From my experience, G4 is one of the most balanced car for tire wear.

For building tips, you have to check the movement of suspension arm and also the shock plastic o-ring because sometimes they are pretty tight and can cause the shaft can't move smoothly.

For optional parts, one of the most important is the rear belt tensioner. For tight track, you might want to try 19 & 23 pinion gear.

Default what motor

thinking about the Rossi Pixy black 5-port.....I have seen hp figures of 1.8, is that correct.
Anyone running one of these?
What do you recommend, this or another?

Default steering G4 Evo

OK, my eyes hurt from searching pages.....I have the new EVO with the new K factory steering, does this come with the updated steering blocks or do I need to still buy them (K1481)
Any other specific mods I should be aware of for the steering?

thanks

hitek: the G4 you got should have the new steering blocks if your kit came with the new steering system. as soon as you install the steering check if it hits the belt, also when you tighten the servo saver. you will notice that the screw will eventually hit the belt. so, find the perfect adjustment in the servo saver and grind the screw using a dremel. the steering system as welll may need some grinding. and let me know on the pixy engine, i've been wanting to try out that engine eversince

thanks for the help..........sounds like the G4 will be a great car if the steering issues are resolved.
unless someone points me in a different direction I think I will pick up the 5 port black pixy

I have not run the 5 port turbo version, but I have run the 3 port roar legal, was fast but I ran it against my sirio equivalent and the Sirio was much faster.

I have a sirio evo2, I think it holds up against the black pixy and it's roar legal, i was tempted by the black pixy but don't let good looks fool you, there are other mills...

bros,
i do not know if you are all talking about the black pixy, shinny silver cooling head with black body, 5ports.
I got one. If it is, i can tell you, this engine is required a lot of run in. Will cramp when started on the starter box easily during run-in.
among other engines, the latest jp- blue with 5 ports, should be the fastest.
