Default clutch changes

The only clutch that fits into the G4 through the bulkheads are the Serpent 710 clutch, which I have on my car, and the Kawahara Micro SS centax clutch. No others will work, I have tried all, Kyosho, Mugen, Ofna, and others. My 710 setup has worked flawlessly, I beleive they have a 16t pinion, and a 86t also. BUt not quite sure.,
BTW, Paul C, good try at the nat's, hope to race together real soon, possibly at the Snowbird's. ALso Region 1 carpet end of Oct, at South Shore Hobby., Maybe a local slot race will bring you around.!!!

Default g4 Clutchbell

The kyosho gear does not fit on the g4 clutch bell it is too big. The g4 clutchbell is also for the ntc3 centax clutch. The highest they go is 26tooth. Sorry alan

Look at this part number :

K1410 G4 Hard Coated 30mm Push Type Clutch Set
K1215-7 G4 & NTC3 Push Clutch Housing

And this is for the NTC3 :

K1231 Hard Coated Alum. 1st Clutch Gear 21T (K1215)
K1232 Hard Coated Alum. 1st Clutch Gear 22T (K1215)
K1233 Hard Coated Alum. 1st Clutch Gear 23T (K1215)
K1235 Hard Coated Alum. 2nd Clutch Gear 25T (K1215)
K1236 Hard Coated Alum. 2nd Clutch Gear 26T (K1215)
K1237 Hard Coated Alum. 2nd Clutch Gear 27T (K1215)

So, what are you looking for is the K1236 (26T for the K1215 housing) not the standard K1226 (Hard Coated Alum. 2nd Gear 26T). And look, they have 22T,23T for the 1st gear and 27T for 2nd gear too !!!!

Default Kawahara SS Micro Clutch

I'm using the Kawahara clutch in my RR Evo. I wish I had a G4 to help you guys out, but my Kawahara clutch bell is threaded to use the .8 Kyosho and K-factory gears. I believe Tower just released a 28 tooth pinion. As far as mesh goes with your spurs, I'm to to sure. But I hope this info helps.

BTW, I've been running this clutch for over a year and haven't had to replace any parts yet. I grabs flawlessly. I here I can use the G4 clutch shoe as a spare for my SS.

Default Pinion Gears for G4/NTC-3

The pinion/clutch bell gears for the Nitro TC3 and the G4 are interchangeable. You can purchase the NTC3 26 or 27 tooth 2nd gears from many shops in the US (Including your local hobby shops).

Magma Intl. or APS racing (Canada) carries the parts and my local Hobbytown keeps the 20 - 27 tooth gears in stock. Many other online retailers stock the K-Factory gears for the NTC3.

Also, as an FYI, the stock K-Factory clutch shoe works great if you ensure the shoe is properly reamed and fitted when it's installed. At first I thougt just reaming the pin holes in the shoes would be sufficient, but what I've noticed is the spring retaining cup actually flares out the plastic of the shoe just enough to cause a bind on the pins when the clutch is assembled. This creates an erratic clutch (to say the least).

To fix this, you should use a sharp Xacto knife and remove the extra material between the pin and the spring retaining cup. Don't remove too much! Important, Put the spring retaining cup in the shoe and check to make sure the shoe slides freely on the pins. If not, locate the bind and continue the process.

Let me know if anyone wants photos.

cannot use NTC3 pinion cause it has different gear pitch, TM is working on 20T pulley on lay shaft so it should bring up the speed with the 710

rcoldman... Wrong... The gears are not interchangeable... The G4 gears are metric and the NTC3 has standard threads... As posted by daniz24... So, what are you looking for is the K1236 (26T for the K1215 housing) not the standard K1226 (Hard Coated Alum. 2nd Gear 26T). You just can't go and slap on the NTC3 gears on the G4 clutch bell... If I'm not mistaken, the K-factory centax for the G4 and NTC3 will only take metric threaded gears... Let us all know what hobby store in the US. that has the metric 26 and 27 tooth clutch gear for the K1215-7 G4 & NTC3 Push Clutch Housing in stock... Thanks.. I know you're just trying to help... But the facts are very imporant... especially when buying something online or when trying to explain what you need to the lhs guy with that blank look on his face...

tl2111.. That's nice to hear, but working on something/pulley is not good enough when you need to improve the car right now... What TM should do also and since K-kactory makes them, is release/sell the 26 and 27 tooth clutch gears for the G4.. That'll give every racer more gearing/tuning options. You're limited with only a 24 and 25 tooth clutch gears.... When running .8 gearing, the difference between 24 and 25 is slight.. Add a 26 or even a 27 tooth clutch gear and now you can gear the car to what ever track you're running on and to what motor you're using.. ie short stroke-High revs. or long stroke... more low end punch... The Mugen for example has 5 different clutch bell gears for there .8 gear mesh. I'm not asking for 5... Just the 26 and maybe the 27... Thanks for info...

Default Clutch Gears

RCAlan - To help ensure clear communication, I have attached some photos of the NTC3 K-Factory 26 tooth 2nd gear and the G4 K-Factory 20 tooth 1st gear mounted to the G4 clutch bell. The 26 tooth 2nd gear is noted by the hash marks (or you may count the teeth).

Regarding parts availability, please call Tim at HobbyTown Westminster at 303-431-0482. He is very familiar with K-Factory upgrades and I'm sure he has most, if not all, of the K-Factory clutch bell gears in stock.

Good luck in your racing endeavors....

Default Trinity g4 stock fuel tank

Have anybody had problem with the stock fuel tank on the g4 because my new engine is running a little hot. I change fuel line, put sealer around back plate, carb, and check high needle. But it still running little hot. Can anybody help me out. The motor that I have Nov s1 3 port non turbo. And I do two different air leak on the motor and no air leak. I am wondering do the stock tank is sucking air round the top because it seem like it do not close very tight like mugen. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
