Do the Kyosho rear body uprights fit the MRX-4X without mods? Are the rear hubs needed?

The Kyosho will fit with just a little clearance work. Gets the back of the body up for a little more rear down force. If you also drop the front it gets the Proto Form 909 very well balanced.

The way you get the higher body supports is with the Kyosho hub set (FM602) but I believe you use the Kyosho body supports with the Mugen hubs

Yes, you still need to use the Mugen hubs, not the Kyosho ones. You only use the Kyosho H arms to mount the body mount to the hubs. They do require a little work to make them fit but it's not hard.

Order a H0466-C. Yes its for the 5 but is usable on all of the 4s and has the parts you need to crank the body up with no mods. Don't stop there, the 5 front bumper is the bomb and so are the body post. Other parts from the 5 that fit, front body post, front upper arm and up-rite, rear radio plate mount, rear lower arms and up-rites and probabley some other stuff I can't remember. I'm in the process of cutting a 4 radio plate and chassis to except the floating deck parts from the 5 as well as the servo/recevier gimmik.

Go to mugenseiki.com, click on "products", then click on mrx-5, then finally click on parts list. There are pictures and part numbers. The manuals are also there so you can see how the 5 goes together. Do keep in mind the 5 suspension parts are quite a bit lighter = not the brick --it house that the four stuff is.

Maybe you should start a thread on how your modding your 4X with some track results??

hi, can anyone gives me ideas how to make the rear end of car very stable. ie. no fishtailing, no hooking.

( i suspect my protoform shadow body is the culprit )

lightweight body vs regular weight body ? which one is more stable?

Burn the Shadow. Go to the 4.5mm roll center blocks, use MRX-4-R rear up-rites, R rear upper arms in the long position, 3mm sway bar full soft and no spacers under the upper arms outer piviot ball. 35 or 32 shore all the way around the car. Thats as stuck as it gets. Still doing it check front belt. If the belt looks good look at the side belt. If you need to crank a bunch of rear toe in it, I would fix your throttle finger first, then back off the clutch and last but not least find a race track to run it on...

I finally had the time to sit down and look at the radio tray deal and it is not going to happen. Buy the time you got dun modifying the 4 deck to accept the sliding bracket there would be no radio deck left behind the tank. The five servo mount wont fit because the rear end of the throttle servo (Airtronics 94931) protrudes into the opening. It might work, maybe with a low profile servo, maybe.
Now if somebody had the time, tools and interest to make a "new" radio deck...this is where a Roelof or a Lucas would come in real handy.
