For a steering servo, what is a good response time, torque range? Is .15 sec/60 degrees at 180 oz/in good? And I made those numbers up so they are not referenced to any servo. Thanks.

I overkill it with Hitec HS-5995TG ( 24kg ) in my Hyper8's throttle hehehe....

Steering servo for a 1/8th or sedan should be 0.06- 0.08 sec. Torque for a sedan would be good at anything over 90oz/in. For a 1/8th I'd like a little more than that.... at least 110- 120oz/in.

Throttle servo speed is good at anything less than .15 sec., but get as much torque as you can afford My JR DZ9000T is 320oz/in and .15 sec and my KO 2368 is ~180oz/in and .15 sec.

Ed. get a Airtronics 58Z or a JR 9000 series for steering. Both are fast as hell (.06 sec at 120 oz.). If your steering servo is slow, it will appear that your car will have major push. The faster the better!

When it comes to steering servos torque is your friend. I will always sacrifice a little speed for better torque on my steering servo. It's one thing for the servo to crank the wheels when you hold your car off the ground and quite another when your car is diving into a sweeper at 60 mph with tires, wheels and dogbones all spooled up. This is one of the reasons I like digitals......they will committ suicide before they quit trying to turn the wheels. Lack of torque in exchange for speed is one of the big reasons for cars pushing.

Not with 2400mah cells Matter of fact I ran KO's all last year with measly 1400mah cells. The secret is in a slow charge rate..... and I always have a few packs ready for race day

I also torque mania for steering & throttle...... mostly 180 oz @ .10 sec servos.

My MTX3 is okay for 1 hour final : using two KO propo PDS-2366 servos, + 850MaH.

BTW, got pictures for 2400 MaH cells ?? Is it LiPo ?

I make my packs from single cells using Novak mini-bars. A fully assembled pack costs me about $25 including shrink wrap- and I have 3 cells left over (they come in 4 packs).

I also have the mtx-4, the 9550 works great on throttle, low profile servo = lighter to I have considered putting one on my steering but the 9451 seems to work well there anyone using a 9550 on steering?

I used to have that on G4 back in the day,it is ok but why not use something with a little more tourque like KO 2413 if you want low profile for steering
