Differential Setup
Guys..
The differential oil How to set it up ? How much diff wt oil diference between front and rear, is it always 3000. How this affect the cornering |
what car are you running ?

when i ran the mugen mtx2 it ran best with 30k front and 5k rear
i dont know much about front diff tuning but if it works the same as the rear the thicker the fluid the less traction and thinner is more traction |
My car
I ran V1RR + Mugen rear upright = M1rr

Well, there is no 1 diff setup that will work for every occasion. If you have a small to med track with a lot of 180degree turns, you will want more diff action. If you have a larger, more flowing track you'll usually want less diff action. I would start with 50K/30K front/rear. A lot of people I know run 100K/50K as a starting point. Just some suggestions.

when i run a front diff in my reflex i go 3000 in the rear and 50k up front.

the thicker diff fluid up front will make the car understeer.
the thicker in the rear willmake it over steer so u need a balance u may have a balance of cornering and keeping it straight, but if u r too thick all round, it will 4 wheel slide but too light of a wt and it will wheel spin under power. its all fun and games. |
well for a medium size parking lot , i use 50,000 front and 5000 rear, the lighter the oil gives your more traction that end. As for a big flowing track you need to thicken up your rear set up to say around 10,000-30,000 rage for faster and stable corner speed. same effect can be achieved by running a rear solid axle..if your car oversteer or spinout that means your front has more traction then the rear, try to lighten up the rear or thicken the front..it's all about balance..

I use 50K in the front and 5K in the rear. When you use a really thick oil up front compared to the rear you get better rear traction. When off power it has really good traction, but when you get on the throttle, the front of the car tends to pull the car through the corner, almost like a spool in the front. Just play around with it. Sometimes if you go too light, the diff will unload and your car wil start to act realy funky.
