Well guys, first time out today and the car still runs like a champ even as the original v one r. The car was very fast in the infield and down the straight, but I feel like I am way behind in time on this car even though I can still win with this car. It was still chilly and windy today so traction was hard to come by. Do you guys think it would be worth buying a new car versus upgrading?
I also took my V one RR out for it's maiden voyage today, and I was very impressed. The gold springs hooked up pretty well at my track. I had a few mechanical failures throughout the day. I got there at about 9:15, ran it a few laps, then, my reciever pack wire got cut, and the car took off, smack into the wall. I was very, very upset. I luckily had enough parts to fix it, then ran it. 3rd qualifer, I hit the wall and seared off the hole in one of my front wheels. Main, I ripped the pipe coupler, so I decided to save my P/S rather than finished the race. My 2 speed was grabbing 2nd gear a little too late, and not always in the same rpm range. I'm having a lot of trouble getting that screw that holds the 2 speed assembly together, the guy must have torqued it to like 100000000 ft/lbs! Anyone have any suggestions? Running nitro gets you so dirty! I'm taking a shower.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Well if you are hitting your second gear a little late, it sounds to me that you need to loosen up your clutch adjustment screws maybe an 1/8 of a turn if not a little less. I found that I had to clean the two speed often to get it to shift consistently.
Sometimes it would shift where I wanted it, and sometimes it wouldn't. What exactly do I clean? The 2nd gear bell? I loved hearing it shift and downshift, it was awesome. I appreciate your answers.

Clean the outside of the clutch where it grabs onto the two speed housing. After time of running, fine dirt or dust will build up between them. You might check the springs in there to see if they are worn.
For inconsistant gear changing, you might want to take off the clutch shoes and clean inside them where the rollers run. It tends to gather some crud in there after some time.

Diff action
Hey guys, need your help if possible.
I run an evo on tight tracks here in the philippines. I was wondering what suggestions you guys have with regard to the diff oil that I should use front and rear.
I need for the car to be quick in turns and, again if possible, quick coming out of a turn. Thanks a lot

im kinda new to nitro, first time actually racing nitro, my brother is kind enough to lend me his voner to race with. i have a question tho. the side belt seem to be dragging the whole drivetrain. if i take it off, and leave the front and rear on, its pretty smooth. also, the oneway bearing inside the 2 speed is really gritty. i cleaned it out with everything i have, but non of them seem to work. my question is what kind of side belts do you guys use to free up the drive train, and what could i do to clean the oneway bearing without telling me to buy a new one
D999: did you check for any thing dragging? your car doesn't have that much drag before you convert into evo. maybe you need to clean your bearing. or a new set of bearing :-)
