Also, you may not be aware that the off-road guys have been running two meetings each month lately instead of just one, so that may explain the increased dust problem. I'll raise the issue again at the next meeting.

If you say "you will be wasting you time trying to setup your car" I reckon you may be missing the point a bit. While I didn't like the low grip either, the challenge is to make changes to compensate - you can bet everyone else will.

Remember, I'm not the driver, and this is the fun bit for me. I need to extract the problem from my driver, and take measures to fix it.
Even on a normal day, we make at least minor adjustments.
This is why I get annoyed with myself when I use an old servo horn that fails. My driver gets annoyed when he drives badly.
Anyway, this is just fun . . . . DEADLY BLOODY SERIOUS FUN.

Oh, and Dexter . . . . well, we know he's a wimp, don't we.
I think he's trying to tell us he doesn't want the CD job anymore.

Gav

Didn't you win the Championship I think you are entitled to make a minor mistake (as i do nearly every race) now and then

Yes you are probably right, I didn't make changes on the weekend and my car was all out of shape the whole day,
my fault though, I have got the car set up for the vic cup and
didn't want to change anything

Will you run different gearing for castlemain? I have never been there. Is it alot bigger than our track? Thanks gav

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

A Dandenong set-up should be pretty close for Castlemaine.
Castlemaine is a bit smaller than Dandy, so a shorter top gear is probably the go. It's a bit difficult to say since they'll be running a different lay-out than last year, I understand.
Bring some tyres, though . . . it's a bit abrasive.

no way Gav, the back straight is twice as long now..

and yes, take some tyres, it's like racing on sandpaper, i was getting 1.5 mm wear after 5 minutes using 40 shore GRP's !

Hi Taylor,

I havn't been attending to my car lately so i havn't really been able to measure all my settings. i know i should remember them off the top of my head but i would like to measure them again for a more accurate picture. I will get back to you guys with the setup detail though =)

I rekon if i spend a day with you down at the track and watch you set up and adjust the car i'll learn heaps! so i'm keeping an eye out for you at the next race meet so be prepared!

Oh btw, is that Anthony that runs the FUSION? or anthony that i gave my air filter to? or neither heheh

anyways, back to work for me, no rest for the wicked

It can't be twice as long unless they found another two netball courts.
. . . you mean twice the length of that truck shed.

I guess there's no easy answer to this. You could bolt on some 35's and put in a blistering qualifying heat, then resort to something harder for the final.

You'll do fine . . . it's the Mini-Z Pool on Saturday night that'll be tough to qualify.

Anthony

I agree with SP, he should know its his home track
Castlemaine has a longer straight than Dandy, this is going by what Glenn told me at the last (rained out) meeting there.

I may be making a mistake, but I'll be taking 40 and 42Rear and 42 and 45fr, pretty much my usual fair for Lilydale and Dandy.

DC

maybe we should take this out of the VoneR forum.
