Default Mixing different viscosity silicone oils?

Hello,
Is it OK to mix 2 different viscosity silicone oils, in order to create a new viscosity in between the 2. For example if you mix 50% 500cps and 50% 600cps, will the result be 550cps? I am asking because some people say that the 2 different silicones will not create an homogenous mixture, because the solution of one oil to the other is not possible. As a result a strange mixture will be produced and the shock piston will work at certain points with 500cps and at other points with 600cps during a move.
What is the truth?
Thanks in advance
