Nitro Boost Bottles???
Is it just me or does this seem to be a bit excessive with the Nitro cars?...not to mention illegal.

They don't do much anyway.
They COULD be legal, but only if you had so little fuel line that the volume of your tank, line and boost bottle met the required limit.
It IS a nice carbon fiber sticker on it, though.

Hey yeah the carbon around it does look nice!

Illegal?
Ok, How could they be illegal, all they do is expand the crankcase capacity of the engine, all it is is an empty vessel.

if they go on the fuel side, they increase the potential fuel capacity. According to ROAR rules, maximum fuel capacity (including lines and tanks) is 75cc.
If you put it on the pressure side it won't have any effect other than to provide a small amount of volume which would actually even out the pressure pulses a bit.

PS; I had one guy try to tell me they are full of NOS

you've got to be kidding. tapping a hole in the crankcase? Holy cow - who would do that? What would be the benefit of it?
If that's such a good idea, what ever happened to the turbo backplate thingamajig? Wasn't that on the same principle?

Boost Bottles
Years ago Dirt Bike Magazine tested all the available boost bottles on a dyno and on various size motocross bikes, and thier finding was that the boost bottle did absolutely nothing on any machine displacing less than 490 cc. It was a fad that quickly passed and faded from the motocross scene. It is possible that they do something on an RC Car other than looking cool, but I have yet to fugure out exactly what that might be.

Blow-off valves - is it possible?
Do u think its possible to use the pressure line on a nitro engine and have a blow off valve somehow by using the pressure inside. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM that would be sick. Does anyone know how a real blow off valve works?

oats77us:
Its for adding weight to the car if u have to make a minimum limit.
and then as squizzy said, u could tell some dope that lives down the street its full of Nitrous Oxide.

no it isnt possible or its a waste of time
a real blow off valve lets the pressure out of the inlet manifold when you change gear in a car.
