Garen,

How long did you drive the car for??? The chassis plate is WAY TOO CLEAN!! Get some more scratches on it! Give it some battle scars!!

And thank you very much for the pictures. You nailed exactly what I was looking for. I will go over my car now.

Hopefully you, Arno, and Hovik can make it out to 301 Raceway. We can get some khorovadz!

Hey Garen and other Motonica Representatives,

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALLAH, pre-shave your parts. LOL!! I have never done so much shaving and modification of plastic parts. Oof!

The car shall have its final assembly tomorrow. It will have everything but the missing LiPo battery... waiting on its delivary.

Here is the servo being used for throttle and steering:

Its specs:

Size Category:Standard
Typeigital
Application:1/8, 1/5 on road, off-road surface vehicles
Torque:230 oz/in (2S Li-Po)
Speed:.06 sec/60° (2S Li-Po)
Dimensions (WxLxH):.82" x 1.58" x 1.57"
Weight:2.6 oz
Bushing Or Bearing:Bearing
Bearingual
Motor Type:Coreless
Connector Type:JR
Gear Type:Metal
Gear Material:SuperSteel™
Voltage:7.4V (2S Li-Po)
Deadband:Surface optimized

Here is the LiPo battery I am waiting for:

7.4V 2000mAh 2S 5C LiPo Receiver Pack: 1/8

And finally the radio system:

I will be using the temperature, RPM, and voltage detection telemetry settings that are offered on this radio, for the Motonica.

Pretty much, this car is either going to be a massive paper weight, or a damn good racer. Only the future knows... OooooOoOOOOOooOoOooo

That's a fast servo

I will find out if they do. The guys at 301 and at a number of tracks are switching to LiPo namely because of how much more reliable they are versus NiMH packs. In LiPo all you have to do is charge and run. Then just top off and run. In NiMH packs, you have to cycle the batteries to ensure optimal function.

As far as fitment, I tried out one LiPo pack, forgot the company name, and was a 2S that fit perfectly with lots of slop. However, it was only 800 mah. That would not be ideal for the long mains. So next I am trying out this pack from Dynamite. It was specifically made for the 8th scale on-roader, according to what I have heard. And it only costs $50.

Garen can give you info on that. He has driven the P8.0R and the P81. I think he likes the P81 a lot.

One more question to Garen: how much shock rebound do you have on your shocks? 40%? 50%? 100%?

Both cars are very good, so far I am faster with the P81.

Make sure rebound is the same, 50% or so is ok

Understood, but what did you set your shocks at? I will be using the Losi shock matching tool to make sure all shocks rebound and travel the same.

if you can match them all at 50%, or between 45% and 55% then you should be good. mine are about that much
