Need help deciding on a good kit

Basically I'm looking for a decent kit to bash and drive a few races with. Anyone have any good reccomendations? I've been looking at Serpent and Xray but I haven't quite found a way to effectively compare them or find any reviews. I could also use a reccomendation for an engine as well, but I'd like to keep it relatively cheap. I'm not new to nitro, so inexperience won't be a problem. Any info you guys have would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The CD3 Pro car from OFNA is durable and moderately priced. You may be able to locate one pre-owned also.

Get yourself a Team Magic G4S RTR. Comes with a reasonable race engine from SH and has all the bits you'll need to race as well as bash if you want to. Also has plenty of support for parts and advice.

If you're buying a new kit look at your LHS around the area and see if they stock parts for them and also what is popular for racers in your area (you can get easy advice this way).
