nitro pan cars... interesting how things come full cirle. Check out these beauties.
look at how low the body is!
look at how the driver head is the correct scale!
whats amazing is that people still race the cars! Look at this site!
also, i think this is a converted bolink for nitro.
I'm with RayJ. Things were simpler then. Maybe thats whats needed to get new folks into it. Although I like the idea of a pan 1/12th gas car, I also like the idea of vintage pan car racing. Just look how popular racing was back in those days! Anyone have a vintage Delta Super j or Associated rc300 they want to get rid of on your shelf?

You have brought back some great memories with the vintage car photographs. I remeber watching guys race the RC300s (and later the RC500s) in the parking lot of a local shopping center. In order to obtain the proper tweak, the racers would litterally bend the (fiberglass) chassis with their hands. Try doing that with the 4mm aluminum/carbon fiber chassis materials that are used in our cars today. I wanted one of those cars so bad. At the time there was nothing faster or better (IMO). However, I was like 7 years old and my parents were not going for it. But I kept the dream alive and today (18 years later) I have my 1/8th scale onroad car. These little cars have evolved so much with advances in technology. With setup systems and modern tools, bending the chassis by hand is no longer required as a way to get more traction.

Your welcome. Actually, the link I gave above was for a guy in Japan that restores old cars. (apparently he has quite a passion for them). Another site I ment to show was the one for the guys who race them. Aparently, they hosted a 8 series race (complete with photos) of vintage cars in Japan!
Anyway, sorry to take away from the discussion about the new Kyosho 1/12th. I wonder how much inspiration they took from those cars of the past, I have never really seen a 1/12th nitro before, could be the start of something interesting, would be great if there was rubber tires for it when it comes out. Does anyone make 1/12th rubber?

In contrast to this new car, there is no comaparison. From the looks of the front, it looks like it will be like the electric version with a oneway on the front.

This looks like it might be a lot of fun. MSR at the Kyosho site is 33,600 Yen or $280 USD. It's not an RTR, so someone new would have to buy all the extras required to get started.
I've never run 1/12th. Can you tune these things for different track conditions? It doesn't look like there are a lot of options. That could be a show stopper for some people.

from the looks of it it will not be a very tunable 1/12th car.it does interest me in the world of nitro 1/12th.i may mess around with trying something on my new 1/12th car to see how it would go.being that this is 4wd i would be real interested to see how the car reacts.i will get one when they are available just for the cool factor.

I think this car looks very interesting... but I don't know how popular it will be. It is hard to get a full class of 1/12th scale electric drivers to show up for an asphalt race. Where I live they always complain the track is to dirty and they have to maintain their cars more than when they run on carpet. So I think getting those guys to run a nitro 1/12th car on asphalt will be next to impossible.
I would love to run 1/12th nitro but I refuse to buy one if they ever are available to just run in the street. I would buy one if there was support and other people to race with in my area. So for now I think it is just a novelty

really?we run the snot out of em down here on asphalt.i actually like it better than running them on carpet.they clean the tracks pretty good though.the class seems to be growing rapidly down here due to the lack of maintenance and the speed and handling.it has quickly grown into my favorite class
