I think you got it spot on with the tyres. Ive been having some trouble coming out of corners smoothly. I really have the straighten the car up before i can floor it. So im guessing this has a lot to do with the pinion, and I also read on here that the 25t side pulley option that was given with the car also contributes to tire wear. So far ive been spending money on tires the most, one new pair of rear tires every 4 tanks or so.

But one question tho, after running with the 25t side pulley, we tried to swap it for the 24t the other day, and the belt just wouldnt hold on the pulley, its like the pulley's diameter is too small compared to the 25t and the belt is just hanging too loose. The belt tensioner is at its max already, cant be tensioned any more. Is it possible that the belt has stretched? Because there was one incident when i was driving and the belt just flew off while taking a corner. My dad said its possible that a stone got wedged in the pulley so the belt came flying off..

If I'm not wrong, you need to flip the belt tensioner ( flip it toward the front ) to gain extra belt tension if you plan to use 24T pulley.

There is another way, which is to use two teeth or three teeth shorter belt from another car maker.

I'll make sure i try that tomorrow. Its 3am right now, and im afraid to do anything on my own, just in case i break something on the car trying to fix something. I'll just wait for my dad and do it tomorrow night..

When ever you make the pinion and spur closer to the same tooth count you increase top end. (ie a bigger pinion and smaller spur = more top end)

Hi guys,

is there a simple way to put a Sirio EVO 4 STI in a Mugen MTX4????

I have tried to mount one in my car and the carburator slide is hitting my top deck completely.

Do I have to butcher the radio plate or raise the engine?

You should be able to loosen the set screw in the uniball and rotate it alittle and that will let you clear the radio plate.

Just Shim the motor up.....

you should turn a little the carb and turn also the slide of the carb, that way
the carb should be very close to the brake but enough to clear the top deck, play a little with angles til you get it right

I take it that you have to attach the battery before you put anything else on the chassis? I have 2 receiver packs that I use. one for practice/quals and one for the main. not sure I would like not being able to switch....

i actually dremel'd a spot into my upper deck, the first time i built my mtx4. now i drop in any motor and adjust it to fit

I did both, angle the carb and rotate the uniball, but the carb sits so low that the slide is hitting the radio plate .

I guess I'll shim the engine a tad.
