I believe they wear where the pulley grub tightens down on the shaft? maybe
Also I've heard one shaft; not sure of the make; worn down where the oneway pulley rides on the shaft. what happens is that part of the shaft is slightly smaller in diameter which causes the 1st speed one-way spur to engage irratically.

Titanium 2 speed shaft is not a good idea. I have seen many that wear out wher the 1st gear one way bearing rides. Just like the guy above talked about.

he like offering to me almost like free because no hardly race nitro
There are a few parts that cross over

Sway bars
Second gear and clutch
Front uprights are the same as the 4 but have been replaced for the R with lowered arms
Flywheel and clutch are the same - clutch bell is different

Belts pulleys etc are different though and the 3 has a differnt internal ratio.

my sato seiki hollow rear shaft wore where the one way hub rides, it even made a kind of edge in the inner part making the 2 speed hub hard to take take it out from the shaft, so i had to sand a little that part

Personally the Hudy all in one setup station is the best, as it comes with their tweak station also, but its pricey. I bought mine for $280, slightly used.

Team magic makes a nice one also. I picked up one 119.00 shipped but I don't know if you still find at that price. Full ball bearing

Hello Bobby, SpeedWorld just received some more in last week, they are price-less. Use the station and home and not at the track, because if someone drops a part when loaning it out, it sucks they are made from alum past experience.

lil-bump- FYI if you cut a little piece of brass and stick on the flat spot of the tit shaft were the grub screw goes the wear factor is minimal and will last for ever.

SpeedWorld is carring K-Factory hop up parts for the MTX4-R has anybody used them?

I hope this helps
