well no matter im still going to try, it would be nice if we could get this going...it doesnt hurt to try, but so what if we can hold big races there, we can still get our cars and go and run them there for fun, we can have our own race going on....

Sounds good, but bear in mind you'd be the one holding the race events not the DPT of recreation. You'd also have to get police or some people to provide security and so forth. You just need to get permission from the, police department, fire department, and 3 other places. I seen the paper work and believe me this isn't easy. It took BARCAR months to even make an attempt to try and hold the Regional 1 Champs there and when they did, people weren't too happy. You can only run 10am-6pm and parking is somewhat limited. I know most people would like to park in an area where no one would complain or have site of their vehicle. Once sedgewicks, the area infront of the track atleast is filled then you'd have to park on the other two side streets. Pit areas isn't limited though as there is plenty. If it took a race club president, etc months to hold an event an average person won't have a chance. Also, don't forget we'd need a:
-lap counter system
-handout transponders or if not mention to people to bring them
-crew of people to help maintain the track and reward them for hardwork
-traction additive and tool to spray it down
-leave blower to rid the track of debris
-sound system and generator to power the electronic systems we'd have
This is just an idea of the things we'd need and there'd be more. If it's going to be done one would have to be serious about it and need people and lots of $$ to make it happen. People would be upset if an event was planned then cancelled for something rediculous. Aside from all this it's better to just have a group of guys head out to the track, put numbers on the car and have a person with stop watch check which car has the most laps in a certain time frame. That or just race around the track.

I asked them about running elecs earlier than 10am and they said that was ok, but loudspeakers for the events would be still considered a noise issue. What a crock fulla (bleep). You have fools roaming around blasting music with the bass so high you feel and hear them 4 blocks down...not to mention hearing the fart cannon pipes...the really obnoxious ones. The milder ones are fine, but the HUGE ones are just rediculous. You travel at 30mph in first gear alone to let everyone know where you are? Riigghhhttttt. Maybe we can hold a small race event, but something big like a championship requires more than the small time frame they give us to run nitro. Also, that 10am-6pm sticks...it was stated we will get NOTHING more than that. Enough people have already complained which drove all local racers and others farther away to the other tracks where there's no complaint. Ah well atleast we can practice on it and enjoy ourselfs and thats as far as it'd go.

well if we cant hold a big championship there, then thats fine, but i dont mind holding a small race, like maybe having 10 to 15 guys there, you know, and def if we cant get the timers for the laps, we can def get 6 guys to have some stopwatches....as long as there good at it, it's fine with me.....how does that sound guys...lmk....thanks

we can deff make a club and have practice "club races" between us like 20 people tops
but we will still have issues like lap counting and everything.....
as for the leaf blower im sure one of us here has 1, if not I can find one for $70.
we wouldnt need a loud speaker if it was between us.
and we could all throw like $5 on the table and do a small 1st 2nd 3rd place reward kinda thing.
but thats all nice and dandy except for the lap counter.

Anyway, the track is roughly 190 x 80. It's more than enough to run electric onroad. I suggest you bring lots of batts, maybe a set of tires or two, and a power supply to charge the batts as you can be out there for hours running and having a blast. A canopy tent is good to have also for this summer and I plan to get one. It's definately worth it.

The track is perfect for touring car, electric or nitro. When it comes to 1/8th scales, its a little on the small side but definitely ok. That just adds to the fun, when its technical. The track is beautiful, your car just gets dirty when you run off into the grass. If it had berms around the corners then it would be perfect...
