Mike you beet me to this one... Excellent point...
Why run the same weekend???? I would love to race at either one, but I can not because this is the same weekend as the Bass Pro Series that I'm running in Jackson, MS....
I probably should not say anything, but HELLO. Who is charge around here??
First, the Floridians are trying to put on a big race that same weekend (March 24th) at the Homestead speedway during an IRL race event. Should be neat to see people interested in RC racing, after all they must be somewhat interested in racing or they would not be at an IRL race.
Second, Dana posted on 1/9/007 that Revelation Raceway would be hosting the Airtronics Championship on the same weekend of March 24th, 2007. Well maybe that would work, probably not alot of CA racers will make it to FL to race.
But WHAT is the Point of putting on another race the same weekend and wanting all the top drivers to attend. THAT IS JUST PLAIN RUDE.
Some times you just have to say it like it is. I mean really, who is in charge around here? This could work out so much better if someone would look at the BIGGER picture and not just themselves.
Sorry about this out burst, but now we will try to have three big races on the same weekend and none of them will really be the big races they should be or have a good attendance. HOW IS THIS PROMOTING RC RACING?
It is not really my place to say these things, but someone should be.
You're right Ted, what's up with the conflicting scheduling? Three big races all on the same weekend. Seems like a lot of tracks have their own agendas, and it would probably be more beneficial to get a little bit of cooperation to stagger events so people would have a least the option to chose to attend more than just one event.
Where's the president of ROAR with this one to get things organized to promote RC racing? Could ROAR be involved a little bit to try and promote and help schedule races? Maybe we're asking too much, but a little organization goes a long way.
I guess there's just too much racing to be had and in the end someone or some race will suffer and just disappear.
Just my two cents.

Not that it is going to solve any problems, but I can tell you that we all received the entry for the Speedline race back in November when we attended the RC Pro Finals in Houston with these dates, way before the RC Pro race date was set. I understand that the Florida race doesn't have a choice on the date, but The Houston track did nothing wrong in scheduling their race since theirs was already on entry before the Florida race was.
Believe me, this has caused a problem, because I want to go to both races as well and now will have to choose only one, but I just wanted to let everyone know the background on the dates of the Speedline.
I have just edited the original post of the SPEEDLINE Grand Prix with some additional information. Please go back and take a look.
Thanks,
Roger

Where can we find more info on this ROAR Cup Series?
It was disclosed in the most recent issue of REV UP, on the ROAR web site, in the president's column. I am also told that ROAR will be posting additional information up on the ROAR Cup Series very soon.
