Quick questions guys [there are too many pages to search ]

Im about to order a 2008 version NT1.

On the shopping list is:

NT1 Optional Foam Bumper - Hard
NT1 Rear Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar - Set
NT1 Optional Xray Multi Diff - One Way - Solid - Set
NT1 Optional Alu Wheel Hub (2) x 2

Am I forgetting any other essential option part I should be getting?

Also, does the NT1 use the same receiver battery as the MTX-4? (flat 5 cell)

I would also add to the list a yellow clutch shoe, and some gearing, I found that the gearing was way out for a long open track.had to go up 2 teeth on the second gear pinion and a tooth on the 1st.

Also, yes the NT1 runs the same battery pack as the mugen.

Oh..and get the carbon upper bumper mount and battery tray...they look trick

Thanks for your response guys.

Does Xray have any other options for the clutch besides different shoes?

No lightweight fly's? No harder clutch springs?

What's everyones thoughts on how the NT1 clutch performs when up against a Mugen clutch?

From the limited time I have used this car, the standard clutch setup is quite good Michael. The shoes are attached to the flywheel pins, like the Serpent centax clutch & now the Mugen MRX-4X clutch. However, it would be nice if there was different springs to try. Maybe there is???

Lots of people are using the Orion CRF Clutch Spring, I have one but haven't tried it yet so I can't say if it's better or not.

I find nothing wrong with the stock spring, but I am running the lightweight flywheel and clutch bell with the white shoe.

I've tried the yellow shoe and the white one. The crf spring, JP, MSR, Serpent, Mugen Hard, and the stock one. I've found the following work well together:
CRF with White shoe
MSR with Yellow shoe
Stock with White Shoe
Mugen hard with Yellow shoe

I tried these combinations, because another racer that I run with, was killing me out of the corner. But the White and Yellow shoe is more based on Track Conditions and grip more than what spring works well. If you have a very grippy track, I like the white shoe, but for a looser track, the yellow.

Now that I have you totaly confused, I guess I'm not much help

You may want to pass on the fancy rear bar, in nearly all conditions it will be worse than the stock rear bar. If you pick up the next stiffer std bar you will be covered for anything.

The std aluminum hexes add a bling factor only, the stock plastic ones snap on will not fall off like other manufactures plastic hexes.

The only real upgrades the car needs are the yellow clutch shoe and carbide thrust bearing (I think its included now).

The multi-diff is defiantly worth getting and the hard bumper offers good protection @ harsh tracks.

For Tuning parts I would pick up 35 & 40wt shock oil, 40K diff lube 22.5, 25 & 28lb springs for low to medium grip tracks (38-40S rears). For higher grip conditions (45S rear) go with 40-50wt oil, 40K-60K diff lube, 30, 33, and 35lb springs with possibly the next stiffer rear bar.

gears will depend on track size, layout, and power plant but the kit gearing will be near the sweet spot for most parking lot tracks(150ft or so feet long) with a torqy engine.

As for the battery the std 5 cell 2/3A pack with fit just fine but a flat 5 cell AAA pack will cut over an oz out the car, help with the static balance, and allow you to lower your fuel tank 4mm.

I'm using mtx4 alluminium shocks and springs.

You probably will also need these from mugen spare parts :

Four SK3x12 grub screws to mount lower suspension damper
Eight H0867 silver ball hex

So, now you have a new weapon huh ??
