I wanted to get some feedback on what solvent racers use to clean oil off from the body when your at the track. I've been using Denature Alcohol for the past 2 years and looking to try something new any feedback is appreicated.

Soap and water...your talking about the lexan body right. Ive also used simple green , just be sure it has a fuel proof coating on the inside or else you could find some unhappy results.

Soapy water for the inside.
But if you are at the track and want a fast clean-up, I use Mcquires spray way for the outside. Same stuff that you use on your full size car.
Not only does it clean the outside of the lexan, it gives it a nice shine, and protects the body from oil residue from sticking so bad the next time you run your car

what is wrong with denature alcohol?
less expensive than most solvents!
good for skin?..... yeah right!
solvents like denature make plastics brittle or melt.
electronic solvents are best they dissolve quicker and safe with plastics and dry out skin less quick.
bucket,water, soap, and brush seem to be the easiest.

I always use denatured alcohol in a spray bottle and hose the body off quickly, then dry with air compressor. Top it off with a coat of silicone clean from Motul. MMmmm oranges!!

I use(be prepared for a shock), FUEL. cut oil with oil. This takes off the really stubburn stuff, after you are done with the fuel, you could use some dawn or whatever else to take the thin layer of oil that the fuel leaves behind.

I use a water based nitro wash that I won in a raffle at a race. I never would have bought the stuff on my own, but it really works well. I just looked at the Hobby People web site but can't find it. It might be discontinued.

I have been using Methylated spirits(Denatured alcohol )but i will be setting up a bucket of soap and water at the racing from now on though.
It cleans the bodies really well and is not bad for the paintwork

every time i use denatured alcahol it takes the paint right off the body so i use either simple green or the good ol soap and water then i top it off with some oil degreaser and the body looks good as new

Ditto. Fuel works great. One less thing to bring to the track. At home I sometimes use soap and water, and a little WD40 on a rag for those stubborn stains.

Fuel also works great on the exhust pipe while it's still warm.
