This is a quick question for everyone. I have a presitation on Nitro engines and i was wondering what are the size compatiable of? I.E. .12 = ??? like the new T-MAX 2.5 is roughly comparable to a .18 motor. And what does the 2.5 represent? Is it in CC's?

I wanted to clear this up so i wont sound dumb in front of the class..

Your spelling is a little off (teachers don't like that ), but to help you, the tmaxx engine is the same size as the old one,

This is the breakdown:

2.1 c.c. = .12 c.i.
2.5 c.c. = .15 c.i.
3.5 c.c. = .21 c.i.

c.c. = cubic centimeter (metric)
c.i. = cubic inch (standard [American non-sense])

Traxxas makes the traxxas 2.5cc engine. In other words it's a .15 engine. IMO they market it like that to do just lke u said. People will see...wow a .25 engine and they will buy it. Either way i seen the new 2.5 run, and it hauls. Even though it(2.5) is powerful, the .25 ofna would smoke it seeing how it is a .25

I did forget about the 24.7 & .25 Big Block engines, The Megatech .16 isn't worth mentioning and an .18 is still a .18 no matter who makes it.
Also the reason for these enlarged displacement engines is simple. A little more power and torque in a sport tuned engine.

Does you presentation include how a 2 stroke engine works? Introducing such ideas as differences between your 4-stroke variety (common automible engine) and the 2-stroke variety (some dirt bikes, weed wackers, leaf blowers, Nitro Cars, Boats, planes...) Just a couple of ideas in case you needed material.
