Picco EVO2 and Mega DSII, seems to be the exact same engine (so i've heard)
But is the IDM Picco EVO2 based on the same internals as the "standard" picco EVO2?

Then my next question, when is Daniel Ielasi going to mod the Mega engine then......

i dunt think the IDM/picco evo2 is the same as the mega DS2 ( i could well be wrong ) Mega's DS2 is based on the standard P7r. which is a generation ago.

the new evo2 shares very little with the old P7r. crankcase, crankshaft, liner and piston all seem different; maybe the conrod or bearings are still the same.

picco has done some serious tweaking with the new evo2, and IDM has made it even better.

Hi Alexander,

Do you have internal pics of your Picco IDM Evo2?

I currently am running a Mega DSII.

Thanks.

Mega DSII, has also a different crankcase/crankshaft/piston and liner/conrod/cooling head then the DSI......

I heard from somebody who opened them both (DSII and EVO2) that they seem similar....
BUT, I didn't see it myself, so have to belive him......

i dunt have internal pics, ima a little lazy to dismantle it from the car, i've seen the internals and externals and compared it to an old P7r before, slightly different. of cos, the different internals could be due to IDM's modding... dunno here.

seriously, just give the kamikaze guys a call or email. ima sure they will rave about the IDM too.^^

I'm not certain but I would think the DSII is new generation. I've see the internals of the DSII .12 version and it looks like the IDM.

Kamikaze informed me that the .21 IDM EVO 2 is a modified P7R and the P7R is the same as the Mega DSII.

From this, I would think the .12 IDM EVO 2 is a modified .12 P7R/Mega DSII.

The sell both IDM engines. The .12 and the .21.

Thanks Team Kamikaze

I personally would say that if your happy with your Ninja, then get another or a cheaper good one like the O.S.
Remember it's a "back up".
With an O.S , or the like. You could practice with this motor, see if you like it without wearing out your race motor.

Personal choice which is nice position to be in.
Best of luck.

Menace.

Yes they are good. They don't scream on the top like the novas and Megas but the bottom and mid is very strong.
