I've got them both ways, cant really see much difference but they may help in the long run.

Default GT Aluminum Car Stand

Ok guy's got the large car stand completed. This is tall enough that you can use as a re-fueling platform. Running cars tires are off the ground. Not much weigh and I've found a few plastic boxes that will fit inside if you want.

http://www.darksidems.com/viewproducts.php?partnum=298

We also have the smaller stand listed as part #297

Mark....or others.

I went to BYRON race and had a frustrated weekend of racing dealing with the DM1.....just one little problem. My rear diff, with around 5 minutes of run...will fall apart. I mean, all 4 screws will back out like 3mm and stripped all the gear internally....What is the SOLUTION of that...?

I ended up using the COBRA, zero problem and 2 laps faster....I know that should be my solution but I just don't race GT enough to justify a $1000 investment on that. So I would love to give the OFNA one more shot before I send her to the for sale or ebay.

While I was waiting for my main....I build another diff using red lock tight in the 4 holes of the diff housing, red lock tight on all 4 screws...then put them in...and before the thread in the counter sink screws to the diff housing outside, I use CA to seal all 4 screws........I do this JUST to make sure those 4 screws will not come out and I am not planning to service that diff again....but is THAT the solution of the diff? Does OFNA or other make something (modified or revised) to prevent those screws backing out..?

Did you put the diff in backwards in the housing? They can go in either way. Backwards causes the screws to loosen, specially in the high horsepower open division. Lol

Howard,

I had heard about your problems and change to Bill's back up Serpent.

Rick Vessel was running one of my cars and was 5th after the 1st round and 13th after all rounds using a 3 year old XZ-b motor. He was running in a transfer spot for the A prior to loosing 1st gear. Looks like something was missed when changing gears for the 4th round, but did not show up, so I know the car has the speed.

As to the diff, this is a know issue as we are using more powerfull engines. When you load the diff, the gears try to push the plastic housing off the steel gear. It becomes more of an issue as the diff has been re-built with different fluids. So here are the solutions:

1) Get a new gear case and build it with the fluid and run it. If you change the fluid more than 3 times, put longer screews into the diff. I know a few in Texas who have the stock, then 5mm longer then 10mm longer. Once you have used the long ones 3 times, it is time for a new case.

2) I have the tools to put a Helicoil into the diff case and then I use blue thread lock to keep the screws in. I've got one that has 8-9 months of racing on it.

Well, I guess the best offer I can give you is to send the car and all your parts to me and I'll get it built and ready for the next run. Car would show up just like what I sent to Rick with parts that you may need. You get the body ready, if it comes with the engine, I'll have the clutch set up. You pay for the parts and labor is on me. ........

Just have to run it as it is, no changes unless done by the "Approved Team".

I know it would have been better if I had been there, but work got in the way ......
