Plus1 on that, I have used the Dynamite long wear shoes in a T-maxx that was notorius for hurting cluth shoes. The truck weighed 10 plus pounds with a clutch half the size of 1/8 clutches.

Gentlemen,

Max Velocity Racing has the new ALUMINUM REAR UPPER PIN HOLDER for the OFNA DM-1 Spec. This part frequently melts due to its close proximity to the exhaust manifold. Not anymore. Parts are available and ready to ship. Check them out at www.maxvelocityracing.com

Cheers

Paul

Fantastic! I wondered when someone would help out in that dept. Are the caster clips really needed on the rear? Looks like we would have even more room by eliminating the step to accomodate the caster clips. Just a thought.

If you take the caster clips out, the bracket wouldn't
move back away from the pipe any. I would like to
see them offer there aluminum parts in black anno.

I think you missunderstood me. I would like to see a part that's designed to eliminate them.

My normal process with my nitro cars is to take them fully apart clean, install new bearings and re-build so they are ready to run next season. Just did this on my DM1 and found a few items and was wondering if anyone else has found these items:

Outer clutch bearing gone
Front upper arm loose on hinge pin (wonder if these should be 4mm seem small)
Play in the front steering knuckle, even with ball studs tight
Both drive shaft mount's were loose(set screw backed out)
Lower rear arm loose on hinge pin (same as upper front)

Anything else anyone else find on a regular basis??

That sounds like normal wear and tear for a race car (the CB bearings are tiny on the DM1, I would expect failures in that part).

i use Avid bearings thru out the whole car...they seem to be flawless but i agree seem like normal wear& tear...after a day of race the next day i do a full tear to clean & inspect everything also make sure all screw tight not strip but other than that i love this car we had a great spring summer season

I agree on the size, and since this was a RTR really did not spend time looking at it, will in the future.

So, I'll replace the sloppy arms (keep for one of those thrash repair days) and get it set for next season. Thanks for the replys
