You will need the following...
1. Spec Chassis
2. Center dogbones shorter
3. Rear shock tower
4. Rear shocks
5. Body.

You can goto Ofna's website and download the DM-1 Spec Instructions manual, and it will list all the part numbers for you.

Does the DM-One rear section fit on the SPEC chassis ?, i mean if i like to maintain the DM-One shock system ?

thanks,

The rear section of the DM-1 will fit the Spec car, except the 1/7 DM-1 shock system.

thanks,

Ofna's Mercedes CLK body
Kyosho IGT2 Audi Body
Not sure about the IGT2 Corvette and McLaren bodies.

If the Audi fits the possibility of the Corvette and Mclaren bodies fitting are high.

Default 1/8 DM-1, Spec

I am thinking about getting one of these 1/8 DM-1, Spec RTR cars to race on our track for fun. I currently run a 10th scale Ofna GPX-4 Pro and looking for something to just mess around with. I like the adjustability of this car all the way around. Currently we have a few guys at our local track that have the IGT2 but I like the look of the DM-1.

Not sure if this question has been posed or if anyone has tried it or not but is it possible to change the front shock from horizontal to upright style?

Thanks for your response in advance,
Ken Dubb

Ken,
Dm-1 Spec is a great car. The shocks can be changed to the upright position. You have to order the DM-1 Spec rear shock mount, a set of DM-1 spec rear shocks, and possibly shock springs.

I raced an IG1 last season and purchased a new DM1Spec for the 2009 season. The DM1Spec is sturdier and assembled to race from the factory. The drivetrain is built better, stronger. The chassis setup with the pivot ball suspension, adjustable roll center and factory sway bars mean you don't need a lot of hop-ups.
I would highly recommend this car.

the mugen centax is used in conjunction with a kyosho evolva clutch bell and 21tooth evolva second gear, we then had to use 12mm shims to space the gears out approprietly but in the end i think it was a great fit and a piece that will only compliment the car.

DO NOT try modifying this is you are not comfortable with your dremel skills, it will take a bit of time but the end results are a better clutch in my opinion.
Where can I a mugen centax clutch for my DM1, with a Picco p9 evo?

Becarefull, the DM1 spec is a heavy car and it generates alot of heat in the centax clutch setup and causes it to wear very quickly. The offroad setup with some aluminum shoes works very well and is very low maintenance. the other problem you will have is trying to find 1st and 2nd pinion gears with the proper spacing to match the spurs. You will also need to change the motor mounts and open up the chassis to allow for clearance of the centax clutch bell. Believe me I have tried it and it aint worth the hassle. Hope this helps. Have fun.

P.S. one other change I made for the stock type clutch is, I was prematurely wearing out the small 5x8 outer bearing, so i added another bearing in there making it (2) 5x8 and then using a crankshaft extension and shimming accordingly. This has stopped my bearing wear all together and it works awsome.

I'm having trouble locating a shop or online store that
has a descent set of rubber tires in stock. Every place
that look are out on stock. Does anyone know of any
stores that have them? PTM, Ipanema or any tires that
you have ran that won't come apart. I don't want to burn
up my foams until I need to.

The DM1 spec is a sweet car. I have run both the GT and the DM1 and they are in different classes.

FYI

There is a carbon fiber shock tower on ebay specifically for the DM1 spec that uses the same front shocks. I went with the stand up shock config to reduce weight by getting rid of all that linkage. I also picked up the carbon fiber servo tray. I have been taken out of 2 A-Mains due to getting wacked in the side and breaking my servo.
