Yeah ok, just by switching the chassis you can reduce weight by 117gr
In overall I think I will reduce at least 5% of the total weight
Just haven't got the time to do this yet ...

OK, got it together. Weight down to 3469gr !! Very happy with 250g weight loss.

This is without any Ti parts and slightly heavier Kyosho AM body.

Gonna be interesting to try it out. Cheers!

Thanks. A few more outdoors.

Still need to adjust the servo wires and rx position.
Weight reduced was like 7% which was pretty good!
I ordered front and top carbon supports from SNR to complete the package.

Here's a short video of evening's quick testing after rains.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0maiLgEPXCw

The chassis is pretty much untuned after the modifications and there's also some gravel/sand on the parking lot that shows.

I think it definitely takes off better and handling is somewhat lighter (no big surprise there after loosing over 200g in weight), also the engine seems to be working better now though I did not tune it much, only set it slightly richer because it was overheating at the start.

What do you think ? Pretty decent, no? The motor is a budget Novarossi Rally, not a high end motor. Though I'm definitely thinking a more serious one for the next year. Clutch shoes are also worn out (Fioroni clutch). Am using 16% nitro at the time, burning old fuels off. 25% next.

Well I got a preowned nova Bonito .21. Hope the gearing works better with It than the nova rally (not flash). Also a new mugen gt clutch. Let's see!

Keep a 4 tooth split and you will have many issues with stripped gears. So try the 45/49 spurs and 14/18 Pinion. The lineage of this 2speed and clutch goes back to the late 80's serpent (tells you how long I've been doing this) Anyway, 14/18 is as small as you can get today, however, I have two machined bells (one piece with out re-moveable gears at 13/17 If you really, really, really need one.

I've tried it once and went back to the 14/18, as the tires would not grip coming out of a corner.

Also, check the bell, some RTR kits came with 16/20 which is way too tall. I keep the 45/49 in the car most of the time and switch between 14/18 and 15/19.

Hi,

a little more testing on a different, larger track.

Before tuning the tranny to change 2nd gear later:

After:

Much better I think, the Nova rally started working.
Same worn out clutch and 16% nitro still. Will get the Bonito tomorrow and then a bit more.

Cheers

No problem

Actually I noticed my bell is 16/20 so trying to get 15/19 (already ordered the gears).

And tune the motor bit + 25% nitro instead of 16%
