I've always had good luck with futaba servos...esp the futaba 9550 low profile....

for a charger,I use the MRC superbrain 977...for the simple reason it will do TWO batterys at a time..or any combo....so starter boxes take half the time, you can charge transmitters, its a great charger..

I'd have to go with M.r Wallyedmonds on the 9451 futaba . I've been using futaba servos for the past three years and they have'nt failed me yet . knock on wood

I personally use the duratrax ice charger and it charges Tx, Rx & starter box.

Futaba 9451 for steering, 9350 for throttle/brake.

977 MRC for a charger is fine, even the older 969 is great and cheap on eBay.
I personally have triton and 969 chargers.
With the triton, eventhough it charges one at a time, it can charge 1-24cells, so i connected my 2 7.2V starter box batteries and charge them as one 12 cell battery (14.4V).

For i own and would suggest the new hitec line 59XX which figure bushings in the upper case, which do minimize slop in time and are digital with coreless motors full metal with one karbonite first gear.

thats a great one also...I like the 9550 because of its low profile...which can really help in todays nitro cars in the steering dept as far as fitting in these new chassis's......

i'd have to go with harry on this as ive used the 9550 low profile servos and they are fast, compact and trouble free.
as for a charger i use the cdc chargers and can say they are great but any high end charger will do a good job as long as its reliable

I use 2 times the S9402 servo's in my 1/8 car, yes they are analog, but just as fast and strong as the digital 9451.....
1 advantage, they draw less current from your battery.......

If somebody can really convince me why I should use digital servo's, don't hesitate to try....

I wouldn't have thought the 9550 would have enough torque for a nitro car (I know it's popular for electric). Am i wrong?

Here are the best reasons for digital servos. Digitial servos normally center a bit better. I ran airtronics analong servos for a long time and centering was never a problem but digitals are "supposedly" better.

Digital servos hold their position better. When turning, digitals hold their position with 3 times their normal torque. Analog servos do not. I am running digitals now, but there are many good analog servos available.

For a 1/10th sedan:
Analog steering servo: Airtronics 94357
Digital steering servo: Futaba 9451
Analog throttle servo: Airtronics 94737

I normally would not use a digital throttle servo, but I am running one in my 1/8th onroad. I am using the Futaba 9550 currently.

Is it necessary to have a high torque servo for throttle/brake on 1/10? Does the car brake faster and harder than say using a 9550 low profile to save extra weight..?
