The factory class is a place where pro and semi pro drivers can race using factory support.

1. Qualifying time will be 5 mins long with 3 minute warm-up.
2. One round shall separate the drivers into the two classes by time.
3. Standings shall be decided by rocket round format
4. Ties shall be decided by second fastest round

Qualifying will start Thursday 2nd and Friday the 3rd racing a minimum of two rounds per day maximum of 4 per day.

Racing: The Us Open sedan Champs will use a different format than previously done racing. We will race using IFMAR’s tree racing format until the A Final. In the Final there shall be three 20 minute race using the best two out of three races to decide the champion. With many finals decided early in the race as to who is finally the champ; in our race the champ really has to perform. They will race three twenty minute races and still remain on top. This gives many racers three different starts to show it wasn’t all lost in the start or when there engine stalled…

1. Finals will use the IFMAR tree format
2. All races other than the finals will race one 20 min sessions
3. Open and Factory classes will race three 20 min A Finals each with 20 min breaks after each final
4. The best two out of three races will decide final order

Finals will be on Saturday
Cannot wait....the track this weekend was absolutely insane Kevin and Raf have something special going on and this Open Champ Race is gonna be exciting

Florida State Series / US OPEN NATS Warm up Results

Serpent 720 dominated the event at last weekend Florida State Series in KRaceway. The event was also a good chance to prepare the material to be used at this week US Open Nationals.

Serpent placed 8 out of 12 cars in the main, taking also the top honors with the victory and the fastest lap of the event. All drivers where running the new S-720.

Congrats guys. Way to go!!!

Rafael bought a Verizon PCMCIA card to run LiveRC.

Rafael said he has drivers from all over coming to this race, even overseas, so if you aren't signed up yet you better hurry up. Some big name Pro's will be racing.

I think after qualifying is over, the top 20 (don't quote me on this number, Kevin and Rafael will decide) will go into the Factory Class. There will probably be just an 'A' and a 'B' main. The 'B' main will be run early on Saturday so we know who bumps into the Triple A mains. Triple A mains will use the standard format, your best 2 runs count and the worst run is a throw out.

Congratulations to Paolo & Serpent on it's showing at the State Race this past week-end.

However, just to keep things in it's proper perspective, we wish to add that the others also had a strong showing, since excepting for Paolo none of the other Serpent racers finished in the top spots.

Both TQ's were taken by Mugen with the A's results as follows:

Chuck Moon - Mugen
Phillip Abed - Mugen (TQ)

200mm:

Paolo Morganti #11 97 30:12.006 17.811
Robert Maestry #2 93 30:04.078 18.099
Andrew Duperrouzel #1 91 30:01.670 17.972
Art Carbonel #10 91 30:15.757 17.898
Rafael Angulo #3 87 30:06.130 17.945
Austin Wolfe #6 86 30:03.699 18.022
Luke Whitaker #7 75 24:34.476 18.141
Ken Cambbell #9 73 30:01.386 18.399
Geovannie Gonzalez Gomez #4 65 30:04.729 18.056
Dan Oleski #12 54 30:15.344 19.155
Scotty Gray #5 39 13:11.000 18.053
Gianni Giorgio #8 20 6:58.674 18.397

The four fastest cars of the event were 2 Serpent and 2 Mugens.. I ran out of tires allowing three guys to move past me but the event was dominated by Serpent. Andrew is a good driver and did TQ but was not the fastest the whole weekend and definately not in the main as he was 6 laps down and Paolo slow down to save tires the last 15 minutes of the race.. Gas is never a deifinate thing. I think we had a good level of competition this past weekend warming up for the US Open Sedan Champs.... I used the Forgass series to setup my car for the Sedan champs and I know many others did the same.

These are the four fastest cars.....Why because this is the way they finished...bottom line.......hey we all have excuses as to why we did not do better....im not one to make excuses unlike others....People need to try to be more humble and give there competitors a little respect ....

If you want Robert Maestry I could give you a lot of respect. I could post all of the respect you want on this thread. Maybe you'll feel different if you really think about it. It wasnt a slam on them or you! I know you dont get the respect you would like but your not gonna get it like this.
