Smile Non-Lola 1/8 bodies for MRX4R/Serpent 960???

Greetings all,

Was considering getting a MRX4R this Thursday, but I cannot stand the Lola body or any other LM style bodies. Are there any 1/8 touring car bodies out there available to fit such chassis?

Many thanks in advance,

Nope... 1/8 On-road cars are designed around the grip they provide that kind of bodies, not for the looks.

If you cannot stand the looks of a Lola/LMP cars, better go with other scales like 1/10th 200mm cars.

I know this already but I cannot stand the look of the Lola. I can sacrifice downforce as I am not racing the car on a track seriously, I just want an ordinary 1/8 body for the thing so I can actually stand looking at it... :-)

Sry bud, but corse is right. Sacrifice downforce on 8th onroad and you are looking for trouble. 8th's require that downforce which is why they handle great and which is why they have a floating rear mount. Without the two, it's just a car traveling at high speeds with horrible handling. You're better off going to TC or try to find an HPI Super Nitro if you want TC bodies.

Cheers for the help, guys!

Unfortunately I am living in Japan so I only buy Japanese products (they are dirt cheap here!!!), HPI would be out of the question...

Guess I will just have to stick with the 1/10 for a while then - I did see a Porsche LM style body for a Serpent a while ago, would that fit an MRX4R??

Cheers

I believe Serpent still makes some for their 1/8 cars.

Not sure if itll fit , but there are the hpi super cars...but I think those were technically 1/9th scale.

If those can fit , they have like the toyota gt-one car. Thing looks awesome if you ask me.

Thanks for the info!

Especially the link, bsmooth - the McLaren looks exactly what I was looking for, heh heh

So would this body be able to be attached to the MRX4R without any major modifications then??

HPI is simply more expensive over here as it is a Western company - you would be paying more for the same thing...Over here Japanese brand RC cars and parts are dirt cheap and very competitive so its good to take advantage of this!!

Well cheers for the help, guys!

In NZ 1/8th Saloon is a national class where we run those bodies, I know that those 2 bodies will fit on a MRX4 and MRX3, i'd say they would fit on the serpent aswell

Default 1/8 scale body

Try the Power Racing body.
It is for the 1/8 scale on-road. It is more of the coupe style body.
You can find it at Power Racing.com, Ace Hobbies, or Southland hobbies in Lakewood Ca.

Those are still small and won't fit. HPI does make a Toyota GT one that fits 8th only...haven't seen it around though.
