Thats how I mount my switch. Easy to do and you can shorten the switch wiring making for a tidy installation. The only thing I do to my switches when they face up and are that close to the fuel fill, is pull the switch out of the plastic housing and drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the switch housing. That way a slosh of fuel can drain out and minimize or eliminate interference problems during a race.
