Check that... I have the XRay book... not the Hudy... though Martin Hudy wrote the XRay book... Is there another guide?

The NT1 book covers all of the set-up stuff but in less detail than the Hudy set-up book for the set-up tools. However there is some additional info not covered in the Hudy book that applies to gas cars that is very handy.
Search pressure chamber as this was discussed not long ago.

It equalizes the pressure pulses from exhaust pipe to gas tank , thus it can stabilise / smooth the fuel pressure going into carburator :
(1). Not too lean after acceleration ( off throttle )
(2). Not too rich during acceleration ( full throttle ).

You can stabilse the pressure by using longer pressure line ( people said it's 15cm long ). When using mugen pressure chamber, you can use shorter pressure line and still get the same effect.

Most group A drivers use it.

Yes. The air goes in thru to tubes in the top of the "cap". It dumps into an open space above the filter.
