ok are the batteries ok in the control and the car ????
did you put the tx crystal in the control and the rx crystal in the car ???
are you using the crystals that came with the car ???

the little boxes that turn the knobs are called servos
don't start the engine if the knob (called a servo arm) goes crazy

I had one and got rid of it for that reason. It nearly went down a drain because of that problem. I tried everything from Tuning to getting a failsafe but nothing worked. I am getting another nitro car but don't know what to pick.
