my 2 speed is binding up on the 2nd spur because of something in my 2 speed changer..its something in those little set screws i guess....?...??

i set them to just clear the outside whick allows my 2 speed changer to freely spin..but then i will shift almost instantly..if i adjust the shift point from there then it seems to just make it worse.....

ADVICE?

what are those rollers for?

Default 2speed

No worries if its a new 2nd spur gear........they all seem to hang up at first.....they have excess material from what looks like a molding process!!!!after a few laps the gears free up!!

thats the issue, if i set my second gear change to shift later, it then causes that adapter not to spin inside the 2nd spur..i have tightened the shift points so far the screw actually will hit the metal inside the spur..... i will take pics tonight

The correct way to setup your clutch shoe is (well, how I was taught to set em)... First place the setscrews flush with the housing. Then, the 2nd speed screws (the ones with the springs), tighten them down until you cant any further (dont apply an excessive amount of force or you will cause permanent damage to the springs). Then unscrew them by 3 full turns. After you do this, check to see if the adapter (center steel piece) has any rotational play. If it does, keep screwing the setscrews until there is no play. I usually go 1/4 turn in each setscrew to achieve this, if I find screw in one of the setscrews and eliminate all the play, I unscrew it 1/4 a turn so I can find the same point for the other screw (achieve no play). When I get it, I unscrew 1/4 turn that setscrew, then screw in both 1/8 turn. Now, I place the clutch shoe in the car, and check my shift point. And if I want to delay it, I screw in the spring screws by increments of 1/4-1/2 turn. If I want to make the shift point faster, I unscrew them by 1/4-1/2 turn.

Hope this helps.
If the clutch shoes are new, there should be some drag when you rotate the 2nd gear on the 2nd clutch shoe. This will free up once you hit a couple of laps. This is done, so we can assure ourselves that the gap between the shoes and the adapter is close to minimum, thus the force it impacts on the adapter reduces and prevents 2nd gear stripping.

Good info. that is the same way I adjust my 2 speed.

RIKETSU,
I can't help it by noticing your signature, it says " KYOSHO RRR EVO World Champion" did you know that the RRR EVO was never a Champion? it is the original RRR WC TEAM EDITION that is a World Champion in 2004.
