Default 1700, 2000 or 2400

Hi Guys,

Just want to know would there a major difference upgrading from 1700 to 2000 or 2400 batteries?

I currently run 2 X 1700 batteries in my starter box, they seem to work ok, but have noticed that other starter boxes (same brand) seem to have more power.

Would 2000 or 2400 give me more power or more life or both (or would the difference be insignificant).

use 1700 mah, these cells has most punch and you dont need to worry about powerlife unless you have a bad engine/plug

I use a Gel Cell. There is nothing to mess with, and with the $8 charger, you plug it in at 5:00pm the day before the race, and its ready by 7:00 when you need to pack up. The gelCell was $12 i think, and the charger was $8 if i remember correctly.

The differences is 2000 and 2400 have more MAH (duh) and don't have to be recharged as often. I'm not too sure about voltage on 2400 cells because I got out of electric racing when they came out.

Anyways, 1700 cells do in fact offer more punch than 2000mah cells. I know this because I would run 1700 cells in stock class while I ran 2000mah in modified class. The way you charge the packs also affect how much voltage they initially put out.

But I wouldn't bother with new cells. Get a gel cell like Troy said... Not necessarily more punch but lasts a hell of a long time before being recharged and cheaper as well.

I dont see there is a major concern for using higher capacity cells while keeping the same output voltage.

The only complaint that I have heard with the gel cells is from the Pit Man who has to carry the starter box around.

I love my Gel Cell! It will last two weekends without a recharge (probably more, I just recharge every two weeks) and has enough juice to run your tire truerer in a pinch or even hookup your battery charger if you need to real quick.
