Big Problem...new here.
Hey guys I'm new to this forum, but not to a vBulletin(sp) one. Also fairly new to RC cars. I have had my CEN CT-4s for about 6 months now and I just recently fixed a problem of it not running at all. Here goes another problem though if yall could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
When I turn it on it sounds great...when I give it medium to full throttle it sticks and goes full throttle and won't stop...I have to literaly rip the fuel line from the carb to stop the car. Can someone tell me what the problem is here and why it would make the throttle shoot up and stick there even when I apply brakes on my control. I would greatly appreciate it. THanks.

check your carb. it sounds to me like its sticking. turn the electrics on and pull the throttle and see what happens.

sounds like your throttle linkage is messed up
is that a barrel or slide carb?
pictures would help me a lot because im not familiar with the car, but maybe someone else here is

The carb is a single needle sliding. Here are some pics.

you could try moving the set screw opposite the spring closer, putting more tension on the spring
other than that id say its a stuck carb

Try lowering your idle slightly. Sometimes people incorrectly adjust the bottom end and raise the idle too high to compensate for the incorrect setting. If the needle is tightened too far into the carb, it can cause the slide to stick at a certain point in the range of motion.

possibly a bad throttle servo.

I appreciate it guys. I will try the idle screw out tomorrow...I backed it out a little so I will see if that works. If not then option two (new Carb or New Servo)

Yea I got you on that rubber band thing...its just that I can pull back the throttle and it will go into regular position, but the car is still out of control with the speed...

try cleaning it it looks like ya been riding the weeds, anyway run it and spry it to see if ya got an air leak somewherew-d or lite oil then clean it again.

So wait when you pull the servo throttle back it is still going crazy? If thats the case you need a new carb

I mean when you try to close it with your fingers does the engine slow down, if not you need a new carb.
