Hey guys after leaving nitro and going electric (not the greatest decision) I decided to go back to nitro and i am really considering getting the 720 09 kit but i was wondering what is the brass plate and what does it do and do i need it? Also what parts break on it the most that i would have to order enough of because no one around here supports serpent except for the fact i am only three hours away from ashford hobbies. Thanks in advance

Oh and i guess i should have added that i plan on racing at two tracks one that is a bowl (mushroombowl.com) that has about medium traction but has some bumps and the other track (bluediamondpark.com) is a flat track and it was moved away from the offroad track so it doesn't have to be constantly cleaned and so far what i heard is that it is like tennis court asphalt and looks like glass and i was told traction is going to be ridiculous.

Thing worked out pretty good. The traction did not come up until late in the day, but the Serpents that ran looked good. You need to come and see for your self!

Hey beta bob, the brass plate is used for two reasons 1) it adds weight 2)when installed it makes the front end stiffer. Robert at ashford will have what u need and any info u need, also kamikaze is just as helpful and will also have parts. Very good car. Lots of support when u need it here.

Hey Beta Bob, in my opinion you should get the following just in case:

-Front Racepack
-Rear Racepack
-Set of belts
-Extra set of spurs

With this you should really be alright. I have yet to strip a spur. Belts last alot of runtime if taken like they should (keep the pulleys clean). Since I bought this car, I have yet to break a pulley on the diff, spool or either internal pulley.

I have never broken a front/rear shock tower, and the updated rear end is much much stronger so youll break the rear arm before this.

If you do crash alot and you anticipate your crashes will be catastrophic, just then I would suggest to carry an extra set of CVDs.

Hope this helps.

Serpent sell crash packs for the front and back they come with front upper and lower arms front upper and lower bumper brackets and steering blocks, no bulkheads. The rear also has arms and body mount support. Good way to get your spare parts started.

Post your setup and we could probably steer you in the right direction.

Are you struggling with initial steeringm mid corner exit etc?
