Default What was the first 1/10 nitro touring car ever?

I asked this question to a friend of mine who is a very, very good internet researcher...I challenged her with this question and I did find pleasure in the fact that she got stumped.

Anybody know the answer to this? Because I sure as heck dont. :

So, 1992 was the first 1/10th onroad. Doesnt say what car though. Probably a 2wd pan car. I am sure it they probably were quite a handful.

Well you need to specify whether you are looking for 200mm/touring car or 1/10th scale on road or 1/10th pan. Okay, your title is touring car. The first I'm aware is the Kyosho spyder. They had the class all by themselfs. Then HPI released the RS4 and the class exploded.

So my memory still serves me pretty well......... too bad it seems HPI is paying lil too much attention to their EP TC for a lil too long.

The Kyosho Pureten series was released back in '96, not sure if that was the first nitro sedan though. It was my first r/c car for sure.

For some reason the Pureten back then seems bigger than today's 200mm. My friend used to have one of those and it was significantly larger next to my TA03.

I believe the first 1/10th pan car was the Bolink Eliminator 10 and it appeared in the late 80s, I think Composite Craft was second to market with the Predator 10. The cars were insanely fast since they ran with 6 cells and mod was the ticket. To top it all off they had to run on some pretty tight tracks designed for 1/12th scale cars.

I believe the very first nitro touring car style car (190mm-200mm) was actually made by Yokomo. It's called the YR-4 GP, it was based on the electric YR-4. They have also made a car the look simular to the YR-4 GP called the YR-10 GP, but it had extra wide rear tires and run on foam..

Way wide of the mark. Kyosho made the first true 200mm Nitro Tourer with the GP10.

The Yokomo and Serpent cars were the first of the more thoroughbred racers.

Kyosho GP10 Spiders were the first 200mm nitro touring car (of course it was bigger than a TA03! 200mm vs. 185 or so). They came with GS11X engines and pullstarts...they were slow, but fun! They arrived around late 1995 or early 1996, well before the HPI Nitro RS4 or the Yokomo cars came out. I had one of the Nostalgia Series Ferrari 330P cars. Yokomo's gas car was only 190mm wide and was prone to traction rolling...even so it won the ROAR nats in 1998 I believe.

Of course Serpent, BMT and other companies had 235mm 1/10 cars long before that.
