No Thats not true!

If you are comparing to what is being used as the "Latest & Greatest" then these are all outdated cars.

The problem is that nitro sedan in its more advanced levels have gotten to be more like 1/8 scale competitions with 1/8 budgets. If you are looking to compete at that level then you must have an "A" level car that has been released no more than 6 months ago. However for your average club level parking lot race, it is unnecessary overkill.

When nitro sedan advanced from nitro powered electrics to purpose built nitro chassis, many cars already had advanced enough for the average racer to be competitive.

What is important is to look more carefully at the features, durability, build quality of the parts and the value of the chassis before making a consideration.

The KV1 is the same as the Trinity Reflex NT and is the same as the Kyosho V One R and V One RR. Hence there are many alternate sources of parts and hop-ups for this car. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE G4 OR ANY OF ITS OTHER VERSIONS.

The G4 is completely redesigned car that is much improved in lower CG. Its different versions offer different improvements and value. It is best to get the latest version of the G4 because the redesign has cured all the little problems it has had since the beginning.

Another is the Yokomo GT4. Avoid the RTRs. Get the latest version if you can find one because it offered the most feature and value. Otherwise, try to upgrade from no lesser than a PRO or and R version.

Another car worth looking at if you can find cheap is the GS Vision.

There are plenty of "cheap" deals to be had on older nitro sedans that are still very competitive but have lost their market value. If you keep your eyes open you can have a fun season of nitro sedan racing for less than $200 plus tires.

What is the difference between a GS vision pro and a GS vision pro A+. The GS vision pro for $299 AU or a Pro A+ for $399. Or what about a NTC3 plus for $529.

Hicksey 05-03-2006 04:36 AM

Or a Team magic Shock on-road 1/8 scale for $549 are these still competitive or outdated

Motorman2 05-03-2006 07:07 AM

I would like to know where these new shock cars are comming from. That car has been out of production for a couple years. As the US importer for TM parts are scarce even for us to get.

mtveten 05-03-2006 09:47 AM

Team magic parts are easy to get from any hobby shop with a Phenix account. If you LHS will not get them for you Racedayhobbis.com in the US has them and does ship. If you don't mind orderinf from overseas they are widely available from places like rcmart, rc-model, and such.

I bought the RTR version looking for a cheap way into nitro racing but looking back I would have been better off buying one of the nib G4 Evo cars floating around for $180-200 and adding my own adding a pipe & engine. The newer G4s is probably a better car but for under $200 you can upgrade the g4evo with the g4s upgrade kit. By going the upgrade route you will have either a less expensive car should you choose to run last years model before the upgrade and once upgraded the only difference will be the upgraded car has the lightweight 1-way instead of the heavy multi-diff.

well thats not entirely true. The S model has significantly more changes than just the upgrade kit. Its almost there but not quite. It is more than just the solid one way combo besides the parts in the upgrade that changed.

As the TM US importer I can tell you shock parts are hard to come by.Everything else your right we have lots of it.
