For parking lot, and asphalt bashing, is a Mongoose OK?
There seems to be a few folks dumping these things on eBay for even under $200 shipped!

What's the concensus on these RDL Mongoose cars?

Is it worth saving a couple hundred smackers over the new G4S?

The G4, which ever evolution of the car you get is still a good car.
The great think about the G4 is that you can upgrade the model you have so as you are current. I have the G4E (now over 3 years old and I still can be competative in racing) For parking lot, you could buy much worse than the G4 !!
Take a look at the 'Mongoose' and 'G4S' threads to keep up to date but for me. They, any G4 that is, would be well worth that money !

they are all good car, mongoose/G4 Evo come with a lot of parts that are consider options in other brand name,

G4s is a little pricier, but it has newly designed center portion of the car , new dtyle steering system, and most of the goodies of G4.

I am currently driving a Mongoose in parking lot and other place, no complaint at all, the best car you can get for the price. perform as good as other giant brand. I am planning to convert my mongoose to G4S style , it will take another 200 bucks to do so yet with out some of that great parts (rear Alu. shock tower, UFO clutch front carbon fibre shock tower)

mongoose is great if you need a competition car in budget level, else G4S will be great, no other brand never offer you that much beautiful parts in that price.
trust me, both Mongoose and G4s for sure, perform just as well as other 350~450 price level car.

One more question, if I may:
About $195 for a Mongoose G4 or....

$209 + s/h for a TM G4 Evo from brooklyn hobbies?


Which is the better to get? We're talking $20-25 difference, so it's more about which is the better car, if there is such a dif between these two.

the mongoose has k-factory chassis, swing type steering, and maybe the steering knockle, not sure if they are in G4Evo?

The mongoose has a few things on it that is not found on the G4 Evo (if i'm not mistaken).
The G4 Evo comes with Front/Rear Gear Differential whereas the mongoose comes with a one-way up front. and the mongoose comes with carbon radio plate...i dunno what the Evo has but from the pictures i've seen it doesn't come with carbon radio plate
