Default Car Build/Maintenance - What grease do you use, where, why?

There are so many different "greases" out there in the market. What do you use when building or maintaining your rides? Where do you use is it and when?

I have used Mobile synthetic grease (the red stuff) for a while.

The only place I use grease is the ring and pinion in the gear boxes. I use the same as you , OR the black associated grease. I have been perfectly happy with it. I have also found that less is more.

I use clp break free on my universals and driveline parts . I live at sea level , I use it more as a preventative measure for rust, but I cant help but think there is enough residual left when I run the car to provide some benefit without attracting too much dirt .

I use the Mobile grease on my orings in the shocks and diffs. and just a touch on the ring and pinion. A lot of people use different grease for different things, just don't know what the benefit is to that.

I use to use mobile but i noticed it would sling off whenever tore the diff apart. I use black grease from tlr, it seems like it sticks a lot better. You can find it on ebay sometimes for 3 bucks a tube. I use the black grease on the outdrive cups the go into the diffs, use it on cvas and ring and pinion.

I think it's to do with the fact that the TLR black grease (and probably the AE grease too) is a molygrease; meaning it contains molybdenum disulfide particles which really help with how well it "sticks" to the metal of a ring/pinion or a CVD joint under high pressure.
the wrench likes this.

I watched the build of the JQ BE and he used 3 different greases. Mike Cradock also uses different ones as well if I remember correctly. Just wondering if all of you could share what you know. I thought I was using good grease but after more videos I'm thinking I dont know what I should know.

I use TKO Eureka Pro Gear Lube on the diff ring/pinion and Lucas Oil Red "N" Tacky #2 everywhere else (o-rings, cvds, etc..). Bought both tubes 8 or so years ago and there is probably another 3-5 years left in each.

I have done more research. Moly grease seems to be very good for o'rings and Buzzy slick Honey and Rockshox, used for motorcycle and mountain bike forks.
Molykote 111 from Dow, cheaper if you get it from here:
https://www.amazon.com/Dow-Corning-1...%27ring+grease

Buzzy's Slick Honey (very expensive):
Buzzys Slick Honey All Purpose Grease > Accessories > Tools & Maintenance > Grease | Jenson USA

Rockshox grease:

on diffs I use a shell rotella grease we use at work. O rings usually the same. anything not sealed either gets dry wax teflon or crc powdered graphite in the big ass aerosol can.
I work in the oil and gas industry cant see myself buying an rc specific lube haha
