Yep, but hasn't happened yet. Throttle linkage setup and a good cup should help to prevent that. I posted the picuture as it is an idea that works for me and hasn't let me down. Matter of fact I've had 100% more failures in bands than throttle linkage popping off. Just saying.

you could always run both, the elastic doesn't have to be very stretched out because it just needs to hold the carb closed if the linkage falls off so it should last longer. then your covered in any case besides a servo locking up

Any disadvantages when using elastics or springs for closing carb? Heat build up in the servo or excessive stress when elastics are too tight?

That question right there is why I've never run anything to close my carb. The local track is too far me so I never needed to meet any kind of rule requirement.

But now I have this brand new $150 Futaba servo that's real twitchy and had a runaway with another car a while back so between those 2 things, I'm trying to start using return springs.

I just got my Dynamite springs in the mail Friday and they look a lot better then the Nova springs so hopefully at least maybe I can now do something about the twitchy servo.

All my servos I run for T/B are at least 180/oz so I guess they're strong enough to tolerate the extra load?

Thanks.

Not mentioned. But I will add. Choose a digital cordless servo that moves really easy when not powered.

Yea seriously, I have a Spektrum 605 that doesn't move when cutting power to the onboard electronics :-(

I'll try to see if my Savox will be a little more forgiving and give up lol

Futaba coreless digis turn like butter with no power. I have an old bls351 that could probably be closed with a good hard breath with no power applied

Usually it doesn't have to close the throttle completely when the engine is off, ones the engine is running the vibrations will help close it, test and see.
And I'm not sure what you're using to help close, but I don't have problems with Savöx.

I have a Spektrum 605 (came with the RTR) for throttle/brake and a Savox for steering duties. The Savox did not return for me

You might need something slightly stronger then. I'm using a spring and it's not strong at all, it doesn't close the throttle completely when the engine is off, but with vibrations it will close it pretty quickly.
Just a thought, if you had the servo for some time it might need to be serviced, it can collect a lot of dirt inside.
