Default To failsafe or not?

Hey there guys. Ok I would like to know if I should run an external failsafe with the Futaba 3PL 2.4g I was only $125 so I'm not sure.
I do have the hpi mico failsafe just don't know if I should install it or not? What do you guys think. the radio does have a built in failsafe also. should I run both or just the radio or just the external one.....confused......

Never use a external failsafe if the transmitter has one.

A failsafe starts to work when there is no signal.

If the failsafe from the TX/RX set drops in there will be still a signal so the external failsafe will do nothing. And why would you use an external failsafe if the transmitter already has one? More electronics is also a higher chance of errors.

I use the built in failsafe on my mt4 and also throw a couple elastic hair bands around the carb. Pretty much covers all the bases.

I just use fail safe on TX set to neutral throttle position and also use silicone hair scuunci's on carb to close the slide just in case of battery failure.

Default no failsafe

i use a throttle return spring strong enough to pull the carb closed if the servo loses power, it will also hold the carb closed if the linkage falls off the carb. most modern radios just stop sending power to the servos when they loose signal. if a servo fails and locks no saftey device will save the motor or car. back in the late 2000s allot of guys were smoking servos by setting failsafes to full brakes

Yes I've had a servo die at full throttle on the front straight and nothing stopped it except the wall.

I use the built in one on the radio and a spring to close the carb. Luckily, no issues yet with it.
