Exactly... I'd rather change a warped arm at home on the bench rather than a DNF in the main because the arm plastic couldn't take a hit.

I don't care what all the bs is....the 4.0 is a beast of a car. My car has impressed me by the lack of wear that TLR was known for from the 1.0-3.0 era....I had em all....this car just doesn't wear. I'm still running then same ring and pinions that came with the kit. Only drive line I've changed is pins in the Dogbones...and I put new diff cups in the car because is some wear in the grooves. New set of arms once. Pivot balls use to wear so bad....not now...I race 20-30 weekends a year....change bearings every 5-6 races and just keep it all fresh....it's just a great car and the haters just hate....

Default Diff case

Hey how's it going, i broke the rear diff case on my TLR Eight buggy 4.0.
It was my fault when I rebuilt the diff I forgot to put 2 screws back into diff case 👎. Anyway i ordered a new diff cases for the 4.0. But I have a Eight Buggy 3.0 also. Is the rear diff case on the eight 3.0 the same as the eight 4.0?
I think the 4.0 ones might be updated to a better material for better gear mesh but is the 3.0 diff case the same thing as 4.0? If anyone knows that would be great. I want to try to get some practice in today at the track. Thanks! Appreciate it!

If your enrolled in ebay bucks some days they do 10% ebay bucks. So if you bought car for 500 you get $50 eBay bucks back when they give you eBay bucks at certain date. Then you can use the 50ebay bucks to buy more stuff on eBay.
eBay also does flash sales near end of month usually only for couple hours. Usually 15 off 75 bucks. I usually buy all my parts when they do that. I have couple eBay accounts and order 75dollar worth from each account. Say if you do it on 4 acccounts that's 60 bucks saved.

Same part number, so even if there was some running change, it shoud fit both cars.

I am interested in the Losi 4.0 do I have to buy anything else with the kit ? The tuning kit made a big difference in handling for the car? I watched Savoya in New York at the novarossi challenge and that Losi looked real good . It caught my interest

Man his car looked great there! He was not running the tuning kit. Just brakes and possibly wing mount

The 4.0 is pretty good out of the box....just run as is and then make changes and/or upgrade as needed for your driving style and track

The only extras I would buy with the kit are aluminum servo horns and the aluminum front top plate. The aluminum top plate helps keep the front end rigid in the event of a heavy landing that could bend the center drive shaft.

The 4.0 tuning kit came out for those who run on more traditional low grip rough tracks. I bought the kit because the tracks in my area are low grip, loamy dirt, and get really rough.

I would build the kit first and try the stock setup, then go from there and buy add-ons as you see fit.

I wouldn't say the tuning kit is for low grip, but for rough/bumpy tracks. IMO it tames the car a bit making it easier to drive fast. Definitely something you don't have to buy right away.
