They are case hard (black coating).
The Machine's R/C Hobbies pins are hardened all the way through now.

Default Clutch Shoes

For those of you that are using the stock clutch, what clutch shoes are you using?

Default Clutch

Is it normal for the clutch to get tighter? I have broken in my engine and was tuning it today and noticed the clutch got tighter. The car used to roll really freely without the clutch catching at all. Now I can feel the clutch catching when I roll the car.

Is this normal or do I need to adjust the clutch? How often should I have to adjust the clutch? Should I wait to upgrade untill this one is worn out or should I just upgrade now to alum. shoes and avoid any possible future headaches with the stock shoes?

Check the following:
broken spring
loose nut
bad bearings

The clutch shoes should not touch the bell until engaged.

I know my springs the last time I built them were looking pretty rough, especially the 1.0mm ones.

I am thinking of trying 1.1mm all around, with the 2 carbon shoe and 1 aluminum shoe setup, and also putting new bearings in.

Just haven't had the time yet to sit down and work on it. Hope to Thursday and Friday.

Hey guys.

I have a handling question that I need some advice on.

To start with, I am running Genes setup other than having Trinity 32.5W up front and Trinity 30W Rear, and 3K-3K-3K diff setup using the stock diffs.

This works well, and the only issue I have is that when powering out of a turn midway threw, the rear wants to kick out on me and get squirrly.

Other than that, the vehicle is pretty much on rails around the track.

I was thinking of going with 27.5 - 25W in the rear.

Any thoughts or recommends? Open to any diff changes as well since I am going to give it a clean through to be ready for my race this weekend.

surface is dry with a light dust on top. Running a crimefighter style tire, similar to XTR compound. but others running the same compound and tire type are doing fine so I think its a setup issue. I'll have a set of k2s coming in I can try as well.

Thanks!

Try cross pins in the rear or grease. With 3,000 in a LSD diff, your rear end will always be loose and come around on you.
