The short chassis comes with the Matrix FRE. It says "S" on it. The long chassis comes in the RTR or as an option - black and machined out with a "L" on it.

MeanGene- i noticed on a pic of your buggy that looks like you have some carbonfiber braces or something on your shock towers, what are those? After the CEN race this weekend I will be switching to all CEN rides and I'm trying to find out what other options I may need for the FRE buggy and truggy, thanks!

See ya the CEN Invasion!!

I got a question on a related CEN product, the GST but kind of in relation to the Matrix. I finally got to see one up close and look itover (GST) and was wondering why the plastic on the GST feels less beefy than the Matrix? Seems to me that a bigger vehicle should have the same beef or better than the buggy, and it doesn't feel that way.

I really love my Matrix buggy, just curious why this is so different.

By the way, do you know when you will get those hardened pins in?

i'm not sure what you mean by less beefy, but I would assume the GST uses a softer plastic so it flexes rather than breaks, but for racing you dont want too much flex because it makes the suspension unpredictable,

I am bringing all of my cross pin kits to the CEN race. When I get back, I will start selling them again if I have any left.

The graphite braces are really just another rear tower. I cut it in half and bolted half to the rear tower and half to the front tower. A dremel and drill bit is all you need to make them. The braces take the flex out and keeps them from breaking, and is still ighter then the CNC towers.

For the springs described in Gene's bumpy setup as RMV soft, who sells these and how do they compare to the stock blue springs?

Also, anyone else notice that the collet for the CEN flywheel doesn't really seem to grab the pilot shaft at all when the flywheel is pressed on? The flywheel just sits there. I have had it back out because of this. I am going to be trying a different flywheel to see if this helps.

I had the same problem with the collet that came on the Matrix TR Arena RTR engine. I switched the stock one out for this...

I stock the RMV springs, but they don't fit with the resivoirs, so I just use the CEN stock blue springs.

Gene,

do you know of a chart somewhere that I can compare the CEN springs to other manufacturer springs? RIght now I get some wicked front bounce on my matrix with your bumpy track setup and was thinking of using a softer front spring. Rear spring is good however.

The stock blu spring are like Mugen Grey. Try Mugen Blues for something softer.

Congrats to Andrew Smolnik for taking 2nd place at the CEN Nitro Invation. I qualified 3rd in buggy & Truck, but my old engines kept flamming out in the A-mains. Kyle Sokol was also in the Truck A-main with his TR Arena.
