Default Which 1/8th buggy/truggy for bashing

After wanting to get back to nitro bashing, bought a Turnigy 1/16 scale nitro buggy and has had so many issues with that I'm deciding to buy a brand name 1/8th scale buggy or truggy for bashing only.

Here are my choices:

1. HPI Bullet (1/10th scale though)
2. Ofna Hyper 7 TQ
3. HPI Racing 1/8 Trophy 3.5 Buggy Nitro RTR

Any other recommendations? Not interested in the higher end racing buggies, just a buggy with good part support.

Thanks.

The HPI looks pretty solid, Ofna make good bashers too... you could always go used too. Something like an rc8.2 wouldn't be bad, tons of parts left out there for them too.

I agree with bash bros, Rc8tce's are all over the place used and heck a new one is only like 500. Of the three you selected, what ones are sold near you? HB sells their old d8t pretty cheap used as well and depending on what your local hobby shops sell, the D8T, Hong Nor and RC8T all have great ebay support as well

I would look for a used Jammin X1 or X2 but the parts are getting hard to get since Hong Nor pulled out of the US.

Get used truggy off ebay like losi 8ight t or rc8t and go from there. You can get a really durable, reliable, cheap basher if you don't mind that it was used.

I would suggest a losi rtr personally. Either buggy or truck, its a good car with a good motor, a good controller and it comes with everything you need to start except batteries. The only upgrade really needed is a decent steering servo. Everything else is included. That also gives you the option to upgrade over time to losi 3.0 race spec bits such as radio tray etc for more performance or if you ever decide to race.
Edit: if you can get the nitro version, forget that gas crap

Hyper 7 has far more configurations and parts from a large list of usa and Eu suppliers - and the parts on ebay for hyper 7 are dirt cheap. I have several hypers and have owned mugens / jammin / hpi ... for a tuff basher - hyper 7 and a hyper 7 based truggy will get you most bash for your buck ... nitrohouse is hooked up to the hobao factory again - tons of cheap parts - ebay too.

I got a used Losi 8t 2.0 with gen 2 radio tray that if you wanted to pay shipping for I could send it to you. It has tons of spares you would just need servos and an engine for it along with starter box. Bag of spare parts......

Saying your not interested in high end racing buggies, but want a good basher... Get a mugen for durability. Ofna seem to have good parts support for older models. I have an Ofna Dominator still up and running due to the out dated parts support. E bay will usually have the parts you need if you cant get from eofna or ebay. Old Mugen parts also from ebay. you wont brake much on a Mugen though
