Default rc8b3 or mbx7r?

I want to get into nitro.have narrowed it down to these two cars..I know the rcb3 is almost a copy of the mugen...My biggest question is durability. Is AE on par with mugen?.......Thoughts?

Its to soon to tell really. people just got their hands on the associated car in the past 5 -10 days. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the top brands out there today.

^^^

Having owned both Mugen and Associated cars I'd say both are on the same level of quality.... maybe a slight edge to Mugen if I had to pick.

Durability shouldn't be an issue with any of the top grade 1/8 buggies.

If the 8.3 is the same as previous Associated 1/8 buggies then the mugen plastic and metal quality will be far ahead of the Assoc. It is too early too tell if that has changed.

RC8B3 > MBX7R

Why? Because I am bias and love AE.

Mbx7
Everyone that I know that drives one absolutely loves it.
But if you love showing up with the latest chassis... Well the B3 does look great on the track.

I don't know the answer, but you might be interested in the latest article on Neobuggy.net about the RC8B3.

The B3 is practically a mugen anyway so either way you should be good.

Just because AE went to pivot ball suspension doesn't mean it's copy or same geometry. AE has had pivot ball in the past Mugen didn't invent pivot ball so I guess they copied someone too.........What if Mugen went to caster block who they copy LOL

I would base it on local support. If there is a strong mugen following locally, then I'd go that route. I'm wondering how many of the AE 50-75%'ers will be running the RC8B3. These guys are gold when it comes to local help with setups and tips/tricks.

I own a mugen mbx7r Eco, and the only thing Ive really had problems with are the screws. They tend to strip out rather quickly without proper care. But on eBay you can buy full sets for like 10 bucks. If you buy the mugen, loctite everything!

I never have issues with Mugen's screws stripping. I have wore the rear chassis screws down so far the M4 screw head was smaller then a M3 head, so depth of the hex socket was less then half of what it should be and I still never stripped it when taking it out. I would look into the drivers you are using if your regularly stripping screws.
