NEED: Advise from others with experience.
Hey everyone, I have a couple of questions for those of you who have personally had experience with both buggies. I am currently running a TKI3 and for the most part I really like the car. However, regardless of set up and tire choice the rear end feels loose at times and it will also traction roll at others (all within the same lap). It's like this on every track I run.
I am thinking of making the switch to the MBX7R.
Q1. For those of you who have driven both what do you prefer?
Q2. Does the MBX7 fit an aggressive driving style?
Q3. What buggy is best suited for an aggressive driving style?

I going to chime in even though I don't have a Mugen nor driven one long enough to form an opinion about it since you're not getting much info on this thread.
I do have a TKI3. It should not be traction rolling and spining out. The only time I've experienced that is on a blue groove track that had dust outside the groove on baldish tires. Over drive the car on the blue groove and it will traction roll. Get out on the dust and it'll spin (with the baldish tires). If that's the case, a Mugen will not solve the issue.

Q2: I'd say the mbx7r inherently has a lot of rotation, so it's naturally suited to a smoother driving style.. I didn't like it, and I'm triggerhappy
Q3: The best buggy for someone with a very aggressive triggerhappy style of driving is a very calm and predictable buggy, like the HB D812.

I could be overdriving it for track conditions. Plus, I do not run bald tires.
I drove 2 other TKI3's and had the same results. I drove a D812 and a BR6 and loved them both. It just falls back to my driving style. That really stinks because
there is not local parts support for HB or Intech.

ive never driving the mp but i know its an awesome buggy most of my friends drive it, would you mind posting the current setup and maybe we can help resolve or at least point you in the right direction to better the handling of the car

its my driving style. Three other drove the car and loved it.
I got a chance to run a 7R on a private track and really liked it. It felt a little "twitchy" but I could work around that.
If I don't sell my TKI3 and all spares then I may run it again and be a little smother on the trigger.

Try to post your setup. It will help.
From my short experience apart from a big weight distribution difference or rigidity you can pretty much tune two different car brand to be very close if you know how to set them up.
Many people prefer one car over the other because the base setup is not the same.

The MP9 has out of the box a good amount of camber gain, particularly in the rear end, you can tune it by running a longer rear upper link. That would make it more consistent like the d812.

Yes the mugen can be driven aggressive. It is a very fast car. It is good in its own ways .
Good luck.

Others that have driven my MP9 love it. It just doesn't fit me well.
I drove a D812 awhile back on a very dusty track and seemed to like it.
I picked up a D812 last night but it's going to a local kid that I'm helping.
If any of you are interested in a TKI3 with a lot of option parts and tons of spares let me know. I'll make someone a good deal.
