You'd have to try to find a bad race engines nowadays. Novarossi, OS, RB, Werks, Picco, etc.. - all good..

'Twere me, based on what I hear, I'd get a Picco 5TR... Unless you have the dough for an OS Speed (or the Protek version or whatever from Amain...)

The Picco 5TR has been the best mill I have ran. Lance over at RCRenew/Triton had a lot to do worn that engine and his engine line will be available next week. If you can't wait a week for the new Triton line rest assured you will be happy with the 5TR.

I have ran Werks, Orion, OS speed, Novarossi, RB, Alpha and Fusion. Customer service is a no brainer, Fusion or Werks. Had really BAAAAAD customer service experience with Orion. My favorite brand is Fusion, Monty is great and has some of the best if not THE best customer service. If on a budget he has low priced engines, Werks has a great little cheap engine in the B2 and Alpha engines are not that bad, only issue I had with Alpha was runtime, and I never had that issue with Fusion or Werks. I also live in Vietnam where it is always at least 90 to 100 degrees and we don't have good fuel. Sidewinder and Maxima are the only name brands, I run hotfire and have ran team saxo. Running hotfire I was able to get 10 minutes when the OS speeds were lucky to get 8.5 running other fuels. Funny thing here, my Fusion outlast, outrun and have better runtime than the OS speed, but they still love their speeds

+1 for Monty. He'll get you set up with whatever you need, plus his prices are great. Even pipes and headers are cheaper than a lot of places

A Murnan Modified Rex plus five is really hard to beat. And you could get two for your budget.
