They didn't even put it up for sale so how can they sell out? Shouldn't they offer a choice and base the sale on balloting or something?

Don't forget there was an outsider person or persons that helped develop it. Think royalties built into that price.

IF the adage that "No press is bad press".....then Pro-line is benefiting greatly from this fuel stick! LOL

Its the talk of the town.....on a few forums, and locally.

Adrictan,

Yeah, it was up for sale. I saw it out on Pro-Lines website when it was available. I must have gotten lucky to see it actually up for grabs - probably was gone in 30 minutes...

I think this will trigger some re-engineering across the industry...

If someone would design a nitro tank with the flap to the inside, then that would take the need away to grab the tank pull and get it open. I think this would save the average joe club racer more time in the pits than a better fuel gun.

Just my thoughts....

2nd batch is coming. I'm guessing it will sell out just as fast.

If the fuel stick is truly a one-time only/limited production run. Then the price is inline for what it cost to design the stick, multiple machining fixtures, programming, and direct labor (CNC operator) here in the US. Even though it may cost $XXX.XX in raw materials and machining hours, the development/tooling cost needs to absorbed somewhere, which is being handed over to the limited customers buying this product.

Expensive? YES! Price Gouging? NO.

+1

People seem to think engineers and machinists are working for free and should get stuff at material cost.

Only regret now is not buying one and reselling it for profit on eBay since they're all sold out.

Still to this day the fastest pit guy I have ever seen uses a 10 dollar squeeze bottle. Guns are nice but they don't make you a winner.

has anyone thought this is just a promo piece for proline and that they will bring out an "average guy" production model in plastic?

you can't knock a company for making a limited production, serialized unit and pricing it accordingly. the proof is in the puddin..people are still buying it and it will only make everyone else step up their game...the hobby will survive a fancy fuel gun.

I would actually like to see a comparison of the time differences in fueling....You still need to open the tank, thats the majority of the time. The only way something like this COULD be worth the money is if nitro started using drybreaks like on real race cars. Otherwise just a fanboy waste of money i think.

seems like a bargain to me compared to a $699.99 video card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150710

At least you don't need to upgrade anything on your rc to use it .
Need at least a few grand extra just to get the full benefit out of the video card
or those extra frames wont just happen
